    Assistant Software Developer

    About the Job:

    Achieving Zamara’s ambitious strategic priorities will be complex and challenging. Its continued success will be dependent on building and retaining a world-class team. We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant software developer to join our experienced software design and development team. You will report directly to the software engineer and assist with all functions of software coding and design.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assisting the software engineer with all aspects of software design and coding.
    • Writing and maintaining code.
    • Working on minor bug fixes.
    • Monitoring the technical performance of internal systems.
    • Responding to requests from the software development team.
    • Gathering information from consumers about program functionality.
    • Conducting development tests.
    • Attending and contributing to company software development meetings.
    • Managing documentation of implementations.
    • Any other related duties that may be assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
    • Professional certification(s) in software development studies will be an added advantage


    • Knowledge of databases and operating systems
    • Knowledge of frontend development scripts and frameworks e.g. React/React Native/ Angular
    • Knowledge of backend development scripts and frameworks e.g. PHP/Python/ASP.NET/Java/Kotlin
    • Knowledge of mobile applications development for iOS and Android
    • Working knowledge of APIs connections and maintenance
    • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
    • Good understanding and use of DevOps tools

    About the Job:

The successful candidate will provide end to end support on data driven analysis and reporting to drive processes & business improvements. This role will work across all business units to provide insights on policies, processes, business performance and financial improvements across the business.

    Risk Consultant - Business Development

    About the Job

The Risk Consultant will provide support to Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers (ZARIB) in all aspects of services and products provided by the Zamara Group.

    The role will report to the Head, Group Life.

    Key Responsibilities:

    New Business Acquisition

    • Delivery of budget - Ensure the set budget for both Group Life is realized for year.
    • Support in leading new business and cross selling initiatives across all lines of Zamara business.
    • Collaborate with Business Development to identify new revenue opportunities and solutions
    • Support in client market segmentation and target market identification
    • Drive sales process from pre-qualification to award of contract.
    • Response to request for proposal
    • Managing an efficient sales cycle (sales pipeline)

    Value Addition

    • Advise clients on market updates
    • Provision of technical expertise on market analysis
    • Provide new solutions and revenue opportunities



    • Preparation of contract documents in adherence to set guidelines & within stipulated timeframe.
    • Ensure statutory and internal requirements as stipulated in the ISO manual are met within statutory and internal timelines

    Customer Engagement and Collections

    Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

    The Customer Engagement and Collections Representative role will be an integral part of the Customer Engagement and Collections team and will report to the Head of Customer Engagement and Collections. This will be a permanent role that will involve a variety of functions in customer engagement, defaulted clients follow-up and collection, customer data collection, analysis, and reporting across different communication channels. The role requires an individual who is attentive to detail, is an active listener, is agile, loves collaborating with other people on tasks, is respectful but presents their own perspective, and is dedicated to hard work in a fast-paced environment.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Professionally handle incoming requests or queries from customers and ensure issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly in a timely manner either via phone, email, and chat.
    • Handle complaints; provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits.
    • Handle defaulted clients’ portfolios by coming up with collection strategies and following up on clients’ repayments in order to meet set collections targets.
    • Thoroughly and effectively gather customer information, access and fulfill customer needs, educate the customer where applicable to prevent the need for future contacts, and document interactions through contact tracking.
    • Attract potential customers by answering product and service questions in regard to services offered; suggesting information about alternative services.
    • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
    • Provide feedback to managers on how to improve service level and operational standards as per customer feedback.
    • Build sustainable relationships of trust with customers through proactive, open, and interactive communication.
    • Managing yourself and tracking progress with CRM software or any other ERP to be provided by management.
    • Conduct and compile results that relate to customer engagement surveys with the specifications given by the manager.

    Skills and Qualification’s

    • Bachelor's degree and/or Diploma
    • More than a year of experience handling a defaulted client's loan book and working as a customer engagement agent handling different communication channels.

    • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
    • Fluent spoken and written English, Luganda, and Kiswahili
