    Senior Assistant Security Officer

    JOB LEVEL 7: HR SASO-7-2020
     
    Reports to: Assistant Administration Manager
     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

    •  Manage all security duties and report to the appropriate authority through reports on breaches of security.
    • Institute emergency preparedness and disaster recovery measures
    • Co-ordinate the smooth running of duties performed by contracted guards, supervise the performance of security guards assigned to the station; 
    • Draw written assignments, instructions for guidance of security guards and make sure all concerned are conversant with what is expected; 
    • Patrol within the compound and ascertain no intruders interfere with perimeter fence;
    • Check and make sure the alarm system is secured;
    • Report any incidents to superiors without delay;
    • Carry out physical search on motor vehicles and persons to verify property ownership; 
    • Maintain gate passes, vehicle movement book, visitors register, seals and occurrence booK
    • Make monthly or quarterly reports pertaining to security work at the Bureau; 
    • Implement all orders and regulations concerning security matters, investigations/prosecutions; 
    • Conduct investigations as required and liaise with the local police in the event of a criminal prosecution.  

     
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS) 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in criminology or its equivalent. 
    • Higher National Diploma or Diploma in criminology or its equivalent is an added advantage. 
    • Certificate of good conduct. 
    • Minimum of 2 year of work experience.
    • Experience with Kenyan Police Service or security firm is an added advantage. 
    • Holder of a valid driving license.
    • Problem solving, analytical, decision making, integrity, good communication, organization and planning skills.
    • A good team player, maintains high work standards, reliable, easily adapts to  new environments, pays attention to detail and self-motivated.

    Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 including; Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations; Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board; Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority; Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
