    Assistant Sales and Marketing Officer

     JOB LEVEL 4: JOB REF HR SMM-4-2020
     
     Reports to: Sales & Marketing Manager

    • Participate in development of Bureau’s Strategic Plan and ensure implementation at departmental level to achieve the Bureaus commercial objectives of revenue and profitability; 
    • Plan for and manage stakeholder strategic partnerships and engagements for revenue generation; 
    • Formulate and set departmental performance targets and supervise, coach and mentor departmental staff for optimal performance outputs;  (iv) Recruit customers and manage customer relationship to raise revenue and improve company image and customer satisfaction; 
    • Identify, prioritize, schedule and manage the activities of the sales team to meet sales budget; 
    • Analyze the market data, trends and actual results against plan and use the data to co-ordinate, implement and evaluate business plans encompassing all aspects of commercial trading and develop long term and short-term plans for marketing and sales, and achieve agreed targets; 
    • Manage, supervise and co-ordinate sectional plans, sales operations and customer service and ensure they are in harmony to deliver the departmental plan; and  

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS)     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities or a relevant field.
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.
    • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience with at least four (4) years at senior management/ leadership position. 
    • Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Marketing or a relevant field from a recognized institution. 
    • Member of Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) or Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and in good standing. 
    • Experience in the education sector or book production industry is an added advantage. 
    • Problem solving, analytical, leadership, decision making, integrity, good communication, organization and planning skills. 
    • A good team player maintains high work standards, reliable, easily adapts to new environments, pays attention to detail and self-motivated.

    Senior Businness Development Officer

    JOB LEVEL 5: JOB REF HR SBDO -5-2020
     
    Reports to: Assistant Business Development Manager
     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

    • Contribute to the Bureau ‘s corporate strategy development and its subsequent monitoring and evaluation for decision making.
    • Conduct the Annual Strategy Review including preparation of the mid-term review and periodical and special updates and reports for decision making.
    • Develop planning and strategy documents
    • Design, coordinate and implement monitoring and evaluation systems
    • Develop baseline data for decision making.
    • Ensure the quality monitoring and evaluation of related data to be collected throughout the strategic plan implementation. 
    • Manage stakeholder strategic partnerships and engagements for revenue generation.
    • Achieve set sales revenue targets to improve the bottom line.
    • Liaise with the finance team, warehousing and logistics departments as appropriate.

    Senior Internal Auditor

    JOB LEVEL 5: JOB REF HR SIA -5-2020
     
    Reports to:  Assistant Internal Audit Manager

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Operational/Value for Money Audits – Review the use of resources and procedures/practices to determine if goals and objectives are being met in the most effective and efficient manner;
    • Financial Audits – Assess the adequacy of internal controls, accounting and the propriety of financial transactions to ensure reliability and integrity of financial reporting/information; 
    • Compliance Audits – Review/assess adherence to relevant government and other regulatory agencies laws and regulations and policies and procedures of KLB; 
    • Information Technology Audits – Assess system controls, data security and integrity, physical security, systems development procedures, contingency planning, and systems requirements;
    • Consulting and Advisory Services – Offer consultancy and advisory services on risk assessments, business process analysis, data analysis, new system implementations, process and system design and policy changes as may be requested by management; 
    • Supervision of subordinates – Review the work of subordinates and advise on areas of improvement as per the assignment plan/program; and 
    • Evaluate/appraise performance of the subordinates.  

     
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS)

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or relevant Field.
    • Master of Business Administration or a relevant field is an added advantage.  
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years at senior management/ leadership position.
    • Holder of Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountant – (ACCA – UK) in good standing. 
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is an added advantage. 
    • Knowledge of systems audit in a computerized environment.

    Production Officer (Bindery)

    JOB LEVEL 6: HR PO -6-2020
     
    Reports to: Senior Production Officer
     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

    • Develop bindery schedules and ensure that they are followed;
    • Supervise all operations in the bindery section; 
    • Maintain records of quantities of products dispatched internally and externally; 
    • Ensure quality of work and meet customers’ expectations; 
    • Minimize wastage in all bindery operations. 
    • Formulate and set performance targets and supervise, coach and mentor staff for optimal performance outputs; 
    • Maintain plant resources to ensure optimal utilization levels
    • Manage machine preventive maintenance programs

    Senior Assistant Security Officer

    JOB LEVEL 7: HR SASO-7-2020
     
    Reports to: Assistant Administration Manager
     
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

    •  Manage all security duties and report to the appropriate authority through reports on breaches of security.
    • Institute emergency preparedness and disaster recovery measures
    • Co-ordinate the smooth running of duties performed by contracted guards, supervise the performance of security guards assigned to the station; 
    • Draw written assignments, instructions for guidance of security guards and make sure all concerned are conversant with what is expected; 
    • Patrol within the compound and ascertain no intruders interfere with perimeter fence;
    • Check and make sure the alarm system is secured;
    • Report any incidents to superiors without delay;
    • Carry out physical search on motor vehicles and persons to verify property ownership; 
    • Maintain gate passes, vehicle movement book, visitors register, seals and occurrence booK
    • Make monthly or quarterly reports pertaining to security work at the Bureau; 
    • Implement all orders and regulations concerning security matters, investigations/prosecutions; 
    • Conduct investigations as required and liaise with the local police in the event of a criminal prosecution.  

     
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS) 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in criminology or its equivalent. 
    • Higher National Diploma or Diploma in criminology or its equivalent is an added advantage. 
    • Certificate of good conduct. 
    • Minimum of 2 year of work experience.
    • Experience with Kenyan Police Service or security firm is an added advantage. 
    • Holder of a valid driving license.
    • Problem solving, analytical, decision making, integrity, good communication, organization and planning skills.
    • A good team player, maintains high work standards, reliable, easily adapts to  new environments, pays attention to detail and self-motivated.
