    Senior Country Manager

    Brief Description        

    • To ensure a cohesive regional outlook, optimize revenue and profitability; motivate team while continuously promoting growth and the company’s image. Developing sales strategy, overseeing marketing initiatives, supporting portfolio growth.

    Detailed Description        

    • Develop Area sales strategy and oversee its implementation. To develop and implement sales/marketing plans to deliver budget objectives and optimize on resources.
    • Responsible for Commercial Managers in Kenya and GSA South Sudan and Somalia.
    • To lead, motivate, guide, support, develop the team within the region to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • To achieve, optimize revenue budget target for maximum and sustainable profits.
    • To prepare, monitor and control annual regional budget to ensure expenditure is in line with business plan
    • To identify and develop new business opportunities (SPAs, Route, BASA, Commercial Agreements, GSAs, lnterline sales etc) for revenue growth.
    • Engage Government of Kenya Departments and Ministries for contracting as per Fly Kenya Policy.
    • Promote image of company to the market region (Government/Travel Agents/CAA, Trade parties etc) for good relationship and safeguard of company business.
    • Manage and sustain high yields from Travel Agents. Develop profitable relationships with portfolio of travel trade suppliers to secure long-term business e.g., TMC Partners
    • Mobilize promotion of KQ through IATA/Non-IATA Travel Agents and sustain maximum support to Kenya Airways.
    • Apply sales & marketing techniques to generate customer loyalty.
    • Attend industry related shows/seminars/exhibitions to ensure Kenya Airways retains high profile with Travel Agents.
    • Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues at PW/JM to leverage the strength of the Partnerships/Codeshares.
    • Ensure suitably trained/qualified personnel are recruited/retained/developed.
    • Responsible for the regular review of all the Tactical Plans for CMs to drive high performance and ensure accountability of KPIs.
    • Ensure conformity with all regulatory requirements, organization standards and local procedures.
    • Develop and champion a security and safety culture within Sales incompliance with relevant legislative/industry requirements.
    • To ensure a healthy working environment in accordance with relevant industry and legislative requirements for personnel working in Sales.
    • Routine monitoring Sales activities to ensure audit compliance.
    •  Liaise with the relevant authorities, customer airlines and other operationally relevant external parties.
    • Any other duties that shall be assigned from time to time.

    Job Requirements        

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or related experience in an aviation role required.
    • Progressive Airline experience, Minimum 5 years in sale & marketing or minimum 7 years’ experience in Airline Commercial Environment. – 4 must be in a managerial position.
    • IATA Diploma or relevant professional qualification.
    • Thorough awareness of Commercial Airline industry dynamics and operational procedures.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Computer Proficient MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel)
    • Experienced delivery of service in demanding airline sales/aviation environment
    • Execution Excellence -Focus on achieving results. Change adaptability and comfortable with working with ambiguity.
    • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, Presentation and Negotiation skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
    • Experienced in planning and managing human and material resources. Must be a good people manager.
    • Clean Driving License
