Requirements for Appointment

• Served in the grade of Deputy Chief Health Administrative Officer or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• A Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences: Health Management, Hospital Administration, Health Planning, Public Health, Health Economics, Government, Anthropology, Sociology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics, Law or its recognized equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Undertaken a Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution; 
• Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative ability in the management of health services in a large health institution; and 
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deputize the Chief Health Administrative Officer at the County headquarters;
• Formulation, implementation, coordination and evaluation of health administration policies, services and programs;
• Coordinating major health administration functions;
• Ensuring timely completion of tasks; and 
• Supervision, deployment, training and development of the Health Administrative staff
