Senior Engineer (Project Construction Mgt) at Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Limited

Job Specification

1. Provide assistance and technical support in the implementation of Company Projects
2. Establish project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
3. Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving emerging problems.
4. Maintain control of project plans through timely review of designs, specifications and changes to project schedules and recommending actions.
5. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommend corrective actions.
6. Co-ordinate the preparation of project reports by project Consultants and Contractors as necessary.
7. Evaluate the success of the project progress against the project benchmarks.
8. Maintain a record of best practices and lessons learnt to be applied to other projects, shared with Management and with other organizations as may be necessary.
9. Prepare Management and Board papers as necessary about progress, successes, difficulties and intervention measures required.
10. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and assigning the necessary personnel to the phases and elements.
11. Reviewing bids from contractors
12. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
13. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes that may occur in project scope, schedule and costs.
14. Manage the relationships between Contractors, Consultants, Employer and other parties to the contract.
15. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and record keeping system.

Person Specification

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or recognized equivalent.
2. Minimum period of four (4) years relevant work experience.
3. Proficiency in Computer applications
4. Registered and licensed with EBK as a professional Engineer.
5. Member of IEK
6. Demonstrated competency in work performance
