    Senior Finance and Accounts Officer - 4 Posts

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

    Person Specifications: For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    • Cumulative service period of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Finance and Accounts Officer I or in a comparable position.
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Finance option), Economics, Business Administration (Finance option), Business Management (Finance option) Finance its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)K by Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board (KASNEB) or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
    • Proficiency in computer application skills.
    • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Responsibilities:

    The duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

    • Implementing financial regulations, policies, strategies and plans.
    • Preparing budgets.
    • Implementing Budgetary and expenditure control.
    • Maintaining books of accounts and financial records.
    • Monitoring revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets.
    • Verifying bank reconciliation statements.
    • Implementing internal financial controls.
    • Preparing financial reports and statements.
    • Maintaining accurate and complete financial record of the Authority.
    • Authorizing payments and claims within set limits as approved.
    • Ensuring compliance with applicable financial statutory obligation and circulars.
    • Verifying records relating to Government grants and other donor funds.
    • Monitoring of statutory deductions and remittance.
    • Analyzing and reporting on revenue collected to management.
    • Maintaining financial records for projects and programs.
    • Identifying, analyzing and managing of financial risk control in the Authority.
    • Monitoring petty cash.
    • Preparing quarterly financial management reports.
