Senior/Principal Associate, Collection Strategy at Apollo Agriculture

About the Role

Apollo is seeking an experienced and analytically driven professional to lead the collection and repayments strategy for our credit portfolio - financing agricultural inputs and advice for our end consumers (farmers). The Associate is accountable for optimizing our collection processes and teams and significantly improving collection and repayment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collection and Repayment Strategy: Develop strategies to effectively prioritize and use various channels of repayments and collections (SMS, calls, field visits etc.) to maximize collection efficiency.
• Repayment Agent Incentive and Tracking: Own the optimization of incentive structures for repayment and collection teams to increase productivity. Track agent performance to generate actionable insights to improve incentive structures and processes.
• Monitoring and Control: Develop and maintain a monitoring framework for repayments and collection performance by developing and tracking relevant metrics within proposed control limits. Ensure intent meets execution by developing and maintaining an implementation monitoring and control framework.
• User Research: Identify and execute user research through in-person visits to Nairobi and surveys for target consumers (farmers) to inform the strategy.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Work with our acquisition, customer management, product, logistics & distribution, sales, and customer support teams to ensure that all systems support a smooth customer experience.
• Learning agenda and experiments: Drive the collections learning agenda by ensuring relevant design of experiments and control of experimentation risk and budget.

Does this sound like you?

• Are a professional with advanced knowledge of credit and risk management with 4 to 10 years of relevant credit risk management experience, preferably in developing collections strategies for underserved consumers in developing economies. Other relevant experience could include: 1) Experience in operations analytics to improve efficiency of customer facing business processes; 2) Experience in managing a consumer lending portfolio and credit risk; or 3) Experience in developing or optimizing credit products (credit cards, line of credit, personal loans etc.) for retail consumers.
• Are a data-driven problem solver with experience using data science and AI to underwrite consumers and make business decisions to optimize profit.
• Are an exceptional communicator with the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate complex information and analytical strategy.
• An exceptional leader that can influence without authority.
• Have a graduate degree in courses requiring and developing analytical problem solving and mathematical ability (e.g. engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics etc.)
