Senior Project Manager at REEFolution

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, for this management level position to help advance this synergized effort. This role is an integral position in the organisation responsible of general management and operation of the Trust’s activities with the team, maintaining collaboration with stakeholders on strategic level, broadening restoration efforts through coral alliance with key players along Kenya's coast and across East Africa region raising profile on relevance of eco-smart reef restoration that REEFolution and her partners stand for. Further, provide lead in fundraising for sustainable finances for Trust operations, protection and conservation of coral reef ecosystems and local livelihoods.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• General management and overall responsibility for all REEFolution projects in Kenya.
• Lead support and implementation of REEFolution four pillars i.e. coral reef restoration, research, marine education and outreach (VR) and sustainable livelihood.
• Working closely with the Board of Trustees to formulate organizational goals and operational requirements.
• Lead in fundraising towards sustainable finances through jointly effort with REEFolution Foundation.
• Lead in maintaining connect and building new stakeholders at all levels to guarantee advocacy and lobbying on marine conservation and local livelihood.
• Strengthen local community collaboration through the BMUs and other CBOs towards a Blue Belt Movement to foster a strong marine stewardship among coastal communities.
• Strengthen marine education and outreach programs for local and visiting schools to Kisite Marine Protected Area.
• Undertake other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Required profile (experience and skills)

• A Kenyan citizen, a fluent in Swahili and English language speaker.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Candidate with master’s degree in marine resource management, nature conservation and sustainable tourism will have an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management.
• Have a proven track record and experience in fundraising.
• Demonstrated experience of building senior stakeholder relationships and management.
• Strong networking, creative and critical thinker, self-driven and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence, collaborative and ability to influence others in a credible and respectful way for results.
• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
• Experience working in/with global teams with diverse culture and backgrounds.
• Experience in marine / coral conservation will be an advantage.
• Professional experience working underwater will be an advantage
