    Senior Technical Advisors - Prevention (2 Posts)

    REPORTING TO: Deputy Chief of Party
    LOCATION: Coast Region

    Job Purpose

    The Team Lead will be responsible for technical support in building capacity of the project and providing technical advice, supervision, direction, coordination, coaching and mentorship to the implementing teams for delivery of quality HIV prevention programs in designated counties leading to quality HIV and FP/RMNCAH and Nutrition services.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Take responsibility for achievement of county level HIV prevention service delivery targets to meet USAID Stawisha Pwani contractual obligations.
    • Identify and participate in relevant county and where necessary national government forums e.g. HIV prevention TWG to ensure USAID Stawisha Pwani visibility and shared learning.
    • Participate in project review with the technical teams to develop and implement strategies in line with emerging developments in HIV programs and according to the donor guidelines.
    • Participate in the co-creation of county level annual, quarterly and monthly project work and implementation plans.
    • Receive and review technical reports from the county HIV prevention teams and provide timely feedback.
    • Provide county level technical assistance and leadership in the process of documentation and dissemination of HIV prevention activities and lessons learnt and best practices and packages developed.
    • Participate in various county and national HIV prevention forums workshops in liaison with the deputy chief of party and HQ teams to present work done and learn from other experiences.
    • Provide feedback from the policy and other engagements as per the LVCT health policy engagement framework.
    • Ensure LVCT Health visibility at all implementation sites and activities including outreach and workshops through proper branding.
    • Maintain open and regular communication with stakeholders- staff, community organizations and the counties.
    • Work with M& E to track performance and ensure all sites and programs collect prevention data and report accurately to M&E in a timely manner every month.
    • Participate in organization’s performance reviews meetings through the existing institutional forums.
    • Liaise with the CQI lead to conduct Site Improvement through Monitoring of Systems (SIMS) other routine inspections.
    • Identify and nurture talent within the prevention team and provide necessary supervision for optimal team delivery of project prevention activities.
    • Ensure proper utilization of LVCT Health and donor resources as per approved budgets by program staff.

    Requirements

    • A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Nursing or Social Sciences.
    • Training in HIV prevention from a recognized institution.
    • 7 years’ experience, with at least 5 of these, in donor funded programs.
    • Previous demonstrable and consistent achievement of HIV prevention program objectives and goals.
    • A valid professional certificate and practice license is mandatory.
