    Site Operations Manager

    Your Role

    As a Site Operations Manager you will coordinate all aspects of operating a Solar Water Farm. A Solar Water Farm is a facility that creates drinking water by purifying saltwater. Operating costs are covered by selling the water that the Solar Water Farm produces via multiple sales channels such as self-serve, packaged and delivery. Solar Water Farms create their own electricity on site using solar panels and batteries that power a cutting edge reverse osmosis water purification process that creates high quality drinking water comparable in quality to bottled water. This role requires an experienced manager who has the problem-solving capability, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills to handle a diverse and complex mix of responsibilities including staffing the operation with a competent team, maintaining production facilities, product quality, and regulatory compliance, identify and grow sales opportunities, and generally ensure financial and operational sustainability of the facility.     Duties

    • Lead sales, marketing and distribution of 64,000 liters of water per day via multiple channels
    • Oversee bottled water production, plant operations and general upkeep of the Solar Water Farm to ensure a hygienic site and product at all times.
    • Keep, monitor and quality check records and report on key solar water farm operational and financial metrics.
    • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations of the SWF ensuring that assigned KPI’s are met.
    • Work closely as appropriate with local and US operations, maintenance and distribution teams to ensure success of the SWF.
    • Procure raw materials and supplies for water production.
    • Protect company assets and receivables including equipment and customer payments.
    • Manage, coach and develop a staff of up to 12 people by holding employees accountable for their specific roles and providing regular and ongoing feedback that improves their performance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure solar water farm consistently meets sales and revenue targets
    • Identify opportunities to grow volumes and revenue.
    • Maintain strict compliance with all regulatory and permitting requirements.
    • Ensure continuous adherence to quality control standards.
    • Create positive brand value, preempt and respond to potential brand risks.
    • Promote an environment of inclusion, open discussion and results orientation.
    • Promote a customer-centric work culture ensuring that customer issues are handled in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Ensure cordial relations with surrounding communities.

    Skills & Experience

    • 2+ years experience managing teams of 5 or more.
    • 2+ years experience in an operations role.
    • Experience in packaged water production.
    • Highly organized, strong communication and reporting skills.
    • Strong skills in Excel and Powerpoint.
    • Flexibility and willing to help where it is needed most.
    • Resourceful, solutions oriented, can-do attitude, and a team player.
    • Strong mathematics skills.
    • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, planning, resource allocation and human resources).
    • Relationship building skills with customers and internal teams.
    • Ability to be proactive in identifying issues, recommend solutions, multi-task and prioritize.
    • Adequate knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory processes.
    • Fluent in English and Swahili.
