Social Development Officer at County Government of Nyandarua

Requirements for appointment

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Sociology, Anthropology, Social work, Psychology, Community Development, Project Development Studies /Management, Disability Studies, Counselling, Tourism, Gender and Development, Business Administration/Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Three (3) years’ experience
• Training in either Gender Studies or Women Empowerment, Gender and Development.
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
• Membership to a relevant professional body will be an added advantage
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitating and monitoring gender mainstreaming, Socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender based violence activities;
• Implementing Gender mainstreaming and socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence programs and projects;
• Collecting, collating and analyzing data on Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence prevalence;
• Collecting, compiling and analyzing Gender disaggregated data on Ministries/Departments, Counties and Agencies;
• Identifying opportunities and documenting practices for upscaling and replication of gender programs;
• Follow -up with gender violence victim for the expediency of justice;
• Liaising with organizations handling gender issues; and
• Disseminating information on gender mainstreaming, socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence policies, programs and projects
