    Student Research Coordinator

    JOB PURPOSE: 

    To perform administrative duties regarding planning, coordinating, and executing graduate students’ research submissions to ensure proposal and final defenses are organized and held in a timely manner, feedback to students provided within the set timelines, and managing all stakeholders involved in this process in an efficient and effective manner.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To co-ordinate Academic dissertation Proposal Presentations and Final defenses in liaison with the Director, Graduate Programmes,
    • To co-ordinate scheduling and executing periodic research clinics in liaison with the Director, Graduate Programmes
    • In liaison with Program Leads and Faculty-in-charge of student research, identify the support needs of students to enable them to complete their dissertations and devise interventions necessary.
    • Responsible for monitoring of completion rates for students’ dissertations
    • In liaison with Program Leads, be responsible for the allocation of Supervisors to the Masters students and the organization of supervisor meetings on a needs basis (this will include identifying supervisors both internal and external),
    • In conjunction with Program Leads, identify capacity development needs of supervisors and devise appropriate responses.
    • Prepare and submit periodic reports on student research performance.
    • Prepare claims for payment of Internal and External supervisors, panelists, and examiners.
    • Attend faculty meetings organized by SBS,
    • Be available for such other duties, of temporary nature, as may be assigned from time to time by the Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs or Director, Graduate Programmes

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related course with a minimum of Second Upper Class
    • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience.
    • Team player, with ability to work with different departments within the institution as well as with individuals at various levels.
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,
    • Creative, collaborative with an eye for detail.
