Ipsos is one of the top 3 market research agencies in the world. Ipsos Kenya offers excellent opportunities for growth and development . They are looking for a Survey Script Builder for their Operations team.

The script builder is responsible for programming and testing all aspects of CAPI, CATI and online scripts. They script builder will work closely with client service and field teams to ensure that projects are completed on budget and on time.

Key responsibilities:

• To build survey programs and scripts to be used for fieldwork.
• To review and recommend improvements to current approaches to script building.
• To create survey programmes based on questionnaires provided by the client.
• To create quota files defined by the CS and end client.
• To create excerpt files, based on data provided by the client and to submit the results to the team leader or the client, strictly meeting the deadline.
• To upload/launch all the necessary files of the research on the servers (test/ real); to test the programme and provide URL to the client.
• To perform quality check of pre-programmed questionnaires.
• To communicate with the colleagues in relation to programming the questionnaires, including with the teams conducting the research (the researchers), the team leader, the project manager.
• To create and keep records of the finished projects and tasks (all the necessary files).
• To deal with basic tasks related to data processing himself/herself (DP – recode, de-rotate, simple DMS / MRS scripts).
• To participate in developing applications and scripts which optimise the work of the team.
• To help the newly employed programmers, in case of questions and ambiguities about the process and the project work.
• To perform other responsibilities delegated by the immediate superior in accordance with his/her professional training.
• To fill in the system for reporting the project work regularly.

Requirements:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field.
• Ability to produce error free scripts for fieldwork
• Teamwork is essential.
• Logical and detail oriented.
• Hardworking, overtime work may be necessary.
• Ability to make key suggestions and recommendations regarding the survey tools.
