Teacher-Librarian at Shree Swaminarayan Academy

The Teacher-Librarian will: 

• Administer libraries and perform related library services; which may include but not limited to selecting, acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, circulating, and maintaining library materials; and furnishing reference, bibliographical, and readers\\\' advisory services;
• Perform strategic research, and synthesize, analyze, edit, and filter information; May set up or work with databases and information systems to catalogue and access information.
• Teach/ guide teachers children/pupils/ students how to use the library database and other research tools like an encyclopedia, dictionary or thesaurus;
• Monitor and manage children/pupils/ students when using the library facilities

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Degree/ Diploma in Library and Information Science
• Degree /Diploma in Education is an added advantage
• IT literate, confident and efficient in using IT systems
• 2 years hands on experience working in a school or other educational institutions
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to deal confidently with enquiries from library users
• Enthusiastic about and enjoy working constructively with students and teaching staff
• Ability to develop a culture of mutual respect with the pupils
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be professional, organized, and efficient.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
