Technical Program Manager, Android Growth at Google

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Candidates will typically have 5 years of experience in program management.
• Experience with software development and operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally and cross-geography with all levels of management.
• Ability to independently make trade-offs in a highly ambiguous, fast-changing environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Influence and shape multi-year strategy for the Android Growth team.
• Own the overall operating model for the Android Growth team includes Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and project and operational expenditure planning.
• Drive team productivity, velocity, and quality improvements through continuous process innovation. Streamline existing processes and deprecate processes that no longer meet the team's requirements.
• Drive and own execution through the full software feature lifecycle from start to end. Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and User Experience Designers and Researchers to meet the product requirements in a timely manner. Own specific areas for product launch (e.g., program planning, delivery roadmap), identifying risks and stakeholder communication.
• Manage cross-functional relationships across internal and external partners. Drive stakeholders towards a common goal and resolve dependencies and risks proactively.
