Temporary Business Systems Developer at World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Act as a System Developer and Builder of Business Systems Applications
  • Develop Systems in accordance with provided Business System Requirements or Change Requests Definition Documents.
  • Work closely with the Business Systems Analyst to identify core processes and workflows and ensure alignment with existing procedures, guidelines and policies.
  • Participate in the deployment and upgrades of applications and associated systems.
  • Ensures system documentation relating to all processes are maintained, kept up to date and meet ICRAF standards.
• Delivers solutions design and key / core application
  • Participates in systems design workshops with Business Systems Analysts and personnel from relevant business functions.
  • Ensures that business requirements are effectively met and a fit for purpose solution is established.
  • Participates in the implementation of new modules and system enhancements of the Unit4 Business World (UBW) ERP to streamline operations and usability, including execution, coordination of testing, and sign-off.
  • Document and report on progress of projects
  • Analyze current projects/products and provide suggestions for improvements.
• Develop System Build Documents.
  • Develop Project Progress reports at the end of every project.
• Testing
  • Perform Unit Testing and document findings.
  • Develop System Integration Testing Documents.
  • Assist in the implementation of User Acceptance Testing.
• Support / Training
  • Act as resource person to Business Owners and Process Experts during training sessions to end users.
  • Serve as the second level escalation support to complex issues for the Unit4 Business World ERP and other Corporate Systems maintained by Management Information Systems Unit.
  • Respond to Service Desk Incidences and Change Requests and update staff on resolution status through the same platform in a timely manner as per the SLA.
  • Ensure well documented problem resolution on Service Desk.

Requirements

Education, knowledge, and experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems development or implementation of business systems and/or business processes in a large, complex enterprise IT environment is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ development experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, VB.NET, PHP.
• Within these 2 years, a minimum of 1 year of experience working with design / development of ERP system.
• Unit4 Business World (UBW) ERP configuration experience is desirable.
• Experience working in an international organization.

Personal Attributes And Competencies

• Knowledge in C# programming and .NET is required.
• Knowledge and experience in RDMS preferably MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Sybase.
• Practical knowledge of system development.
