Temporary HIV Testing Services (HTS) Counsellor – Dreams IE II Project at African Population And Health Research Center (APHRC)

Roles and Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be involved in the following activities:
• Offer pre and post-test HTS counseling services to project participants
• Offer referral/linkage to care and treatment services to participants as need arises
• Complete the relevant project HTS tracking forms
• Keep updated records of work
• Safeguard all assigned project documents and equipment
• Report in a timely manner project related issues to the supervisor for quick and effective troubleshooting
• Undertake other related activities assigned by the supervisor and project manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing, Counseling, or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• Recognized training and certification in HTS (NASCOP)
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Have strong interpersonal and communications skills-fluent in English and Swahili (oral and written)
• Experience working in informal settlements
• Must be available full time for training and during the entire study period.
