We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Food Processing Compliance Specialist to join our compliance team. You will focus on ensuring food safety, operational safety, and regulatory compliance across all production operations according to internal SOP. You will have 3–5 years of experience in auditing and a preferred working knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA guidelines. This role may include leading small audit teams or mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
Audit & Compliance of Food Processing
- You will conduct regular internal audits and compliance of food processing operations to ensure compliance with internal SOP and GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SQF/BRC, and other regulatory or customer standards.
- You will identify and report non-conformances; work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate audit documentation, reports, and records.
- Promote activities that encompass the OAF culture
- Assess food safety programs and sanitation procedures across the plant to ensure compliance
- Verify allergen control, traceability systems, and microbial risk mitigation protocols to be adherent to existing SOPs
- Participate in investigations of food safety incidents and help drive root cause analysis.
Operational Safety
- Evaluate safety procedures and equipment to ensure compliance with internal SOP and OSHA regulations and internal safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits, walk-throughs, and training sessions in collaboration with the Processing Plant Health & Safety team.
- Recommend improvements to the process owners based on the results of your audits and compliance checks.
Training & Support
- Support and guide one junior auditor or assistant in daily activities and documentation.
- Help develop and deliver fluency in compliance and related audit processes.
- Develop existing compliance tools and suggest areas of focus to allow for effective outcomes.
Continuous Monitoring
- Independently monitor production, QA, and EHS teams to promote compliance in food and operational safety practices.
- Develop an understanding of current regulations, technologies, and potential best practices in food safety and plant operations.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree
- Preferred: Completion of ACCA, CPA,CIA certification
Experience:
- 3–5 years of hands-on internal auditing.
- Compliance experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment or under the guidance of a fully qualified internal auditor.
- Experience with regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
- Supervisory or mentorship experience.
- Interaction with junior members of the team and internal and external stakeholders.
