About Inuka Africa
INUKA Kenya Trust is a grassroots social movement founded in 2009. It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring Kenyans at every level to take charge of improving their own lives. INUKA believes that it is up to Kenyans to transform Kenya and Kenyan problems must be met with Kenyan solutions.
INUKA promotes Heshima (dignity and respect for others), Diversity (inclusiveness and equality) and Self-Belief (Ni Sisi! - It is us!). It is an organisation aimed at turning despair into hope especially for youth and others who feel that they have been left behind and at creating a public space that will allow for a new, accountable and patriotic leadership to emerge.
INUKA gives Kenyans access to information and freedom to express their views through radio, television, live performances, INUKA’s website and SMS platform so that they are empowered to demand for their constitutional rights as Kenyan citizens.
HSF together with INUKA works closely on civic and voters education that comprises of political debates on community as well as constituency level in different parts of Nairobi, mainly in slum areas. The debates focus on good leadership qualities and give recommendations on how to assess the candidates and choose good leaders in future elections.
