    Assistant Accountant

    JOB ROLE SUMMARY

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support finance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • The role will focus on transaction processing, supplier accounts, cost tracking, and financial controls, while working closely with procurement, stores, and operations teams to ensure accuracy and accountability across the business.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliations by ensuring all transactions are properly captured, posted, and reviewed, with timely resolution of any discrepancies.
    • Maintain proper financial records and documentation in line with internal controls
    • Support accounts payable and receivable functions
    • Process supplier invoices and payments in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with internal approval processes and maintaining effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
    • Perform three-way matching of invoices, Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and purchase orders to confirm accuracy and alignment with actual deliveries before payment processing.
    • Support cost control and financial reporting by capturing and tracking material and operational costs, and providing accurate data for monthly reporting and analysis.
    • Support finance team in cost allocation and reporting within the manufacturing process
    • Perform supplier account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
    • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and schedules
    • Maintain organized financial records and support audit and compliance requirements within the finance function.
    • Ensure adherence to financial policies and statutory requirements
    • Support internal and external audit processes

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPEREINCE

    • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 4 years’ experience in accounts/finance within a manufacturing or industrial setup
    • Strong understanding of: Accounts payable/receivable & Supplier reconciliations
    • Basic costing principles
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, QuickBooks or similar)
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong coordination skills with suppliers and internal departments

    Quality Control Officer

    Description

    • Inspect and verify raw materials against specifications upon receipt
    • Ensure materials meet required quality, color, and performance standards before release to production
    • Work with procurement and suppliers to address non-conforming materials, including rejection, return, and corrective action follow-up
    • Conduct in-process inspections across printing, cutting, lamination, and finishing stages
    • Monitor critical quality parameters such as color accuracy and consistency, print alignment and registration, die-cutting accuracy and finishing quality
    • Ensure adherence to approved samples, job cards, and production specifications
    • Identify deviations early and work with production teams to implement immediate corrective actions
    • Perform final quality checks on finished labels and packaging products before dispatch
    • Confirm compliance with customer specifications, artwork, dimensions, and packaging requirements
    • Ensure only approved products are released for delivery
    • Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality reports
    • Support implementation and adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and SOPs
    • Work with production and management to reduce rework, wastage, and customer complaints

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Diploma/Degree in Quality Management, Industrial Chemistry, Printing Technology, Engineering, or related field
    • 2–5 years’ experience in quality control within packaging, printing, or labels manufacturing in Kenya
    • Strong understanding of printing and packaging processes, quality inspection methods and standards, material specifications
    • Experience working on the production floor and interacting with operators and supervisors
    • Familiarity with quality documentation, audits, and reporting
    • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
