    Associate Professor

    This vacancy exists in the following Departments of the University:

    • SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE - Ref: UoEm/SOA/12/16
    • SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCES - Ref: UoEm/SESS/12/16

    Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree from a recognized University in the relevant areas of specialty. In addition, applicants must also:

    i. Have at least eight (8) years of University teaching experience, three (3) of which as full time Senior Lecturer;
    ii. Have at least 48 publication points, 32 of which from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer;
    iii. Have successfully supervised to completion at least five (5) Masters and one (1) PhD students since being appointed Senior Lecturer;
    iv. Show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Senior Lecturer;
    v. Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops;

    Legal Officer

    GRADE 12 (Re-advertised) Ref: UoEm/LO/12/16

    Reporting to the Principal, the Legal Officer will provide legal services to the University on matters of law, contribute to protection of legal rights of the University and enhance statutory compliance.


    Applicants for this position must be holders of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university. In addition, the applicant must:

    i. Have at least three (3) years post bar admission working experience in a busy legal environment;
    ii. Possess a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
    iii. Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate

    Catering And Accomodation Manager

    GRADE 11 (Re-advertised) (Ref: UoEm/CAM/12/2016)

    Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning, Administration and Finance), the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating catering and accommodation services at the University. Applicants for this position must be holders of a Master’s degree in Institutional Management or Hospitality related field from a recognized University. In addition, applicants must:


    i. Have a minimum of three (3) years’ post qualification experience in a busy catering or accommodation department preferably at an institution of higher learning;
    ii. Have experience in preparing and controlling a budget, managing stock levels and ordering supplies;

    Public Health Officer

    PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER – GRADE A/B (Ref: UoEm/PHO/12/2016)

    Applicants for this position must be holders of KCSE C/KCE Div. III and a Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences or Public Health or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution. In addition, the applicants must;
    i. Have at least three (3) years’ working experience as a Public Health Officer in a reputable organization;
    ii. Be registered with the Public Health Officers’ and Technicians’ Board of Kenya and have a valid practice license;
    iii. Be a member of Public Health Officers’ body (APHOK)
