    School Operations Associate - Tatu Girls Campus (Maternity Cover)

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The School Operations Associate is responsible for assisting/directing the planning, development and implementation of duties and projects related to School Academic Systems, Sports Activities, Transport, Meal Services, Educational Technology, Library, IT Services, Facilities Management, Procurement and Finance and Administration.

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Fully embrace Nova's values and beliefs and promote them to students, staff, other facility, parents and members of the outside community.
    • Driving operational excellence in our day-to-day operations of our schools.
    • Assist with implementation of any and all initiatives put forth by Operations team.
    • Provides support in the execution of projects related to school goals - renovation, construction, new policies/systems, etc.
    • Ensures smooth campus operations (including evening and weekend activities) by liaising closely with resident teaching staff and operations team.
    • Supports in the successful running of various aspects of school operations - Library, Student Support Services, Kitchen operations, Sports Activities, etc.
    • Assists in forecasting and managing the school facilities budget.
    • Assists in doing various cost analysis to identify operational improvements.
    • Responsible for planning, assigning and directing contract/casual staff, including cleaning and security staff.
    • Responsible for appraising staff performance; rewarding and disciplining contract/casual staff; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    ABOUT YOU

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/ Management/ Economics or other related fields.
    • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience preferably in business operations, project management, marketing, event management and/or finance operations.
    • At least 1-2 years spent in a leadership/ supervisory role demonstrating progressive responsibility.
    • Superior problem solving and planning skills.
    • Good competence in Microsoft packages such as Microsoft Excel.
    • Highly developed organizational, communication and presentation skills.
    • Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to form professional relationships at all levels in the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders.

    Associate Dean of Residential Life (Tatu Girls Highschool)

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Key responsibilities for the role include: 

    ABOUT YOU

    • In liaison with the School Leader, overseeing the implementation of a Student Life strategy and ensuring effective and efficient use of resources assigned to student life (financial, human, etc.)
    • Create Residential Life goals for the academic year and tracking toward progress. 
    • Sit on the school management team and attending all meetings where a residential life voice is required. 
    • Teach a maximum of twelve lessons per week in their subject of specialization. 
    • Manage the Dorm Mother (s) and the School nurse.
    • Ensure the development, growth and accountability of direct reports.
    • Oversee school move in and move out in compliance with the school calendar.
    • Create a plan for student health and safety emergency preparedness.
    • Ensure that the School’s behaviour policy is implemented consistently and effectively. Working in collaboration with the Behavior Committee to ensure fair proceedings. 
    • In liaison with the School Leader, designing and administer policies in the residence halls.
    • Perform administrative duties including: creating and retaining student housing contracts, emergency contact information, room and other keys, etc.
    • Develop and implement appropriate communication strategies in order to keep all members of the Residential Life Community and students families informed regarding matters of interest, information and concern.
    • Liaise with security staff to ensure students’ personal safety and security.
    • Support with sports, clubs and societies. 
    • Support with Boarding Teacher on duty schedules and ensuring duties are done effectively.
    • Any other duties as assigned by your Manager.

    Skills and Qualifications required

    • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and you are TSC certified
    • Masters degree in education/ social sciences is not compulsory, it would be an added advantage.
    • You love working with teenagers and have previously engaged with teen and youth programmes that help them develop holistically
    • You have served as a Boarding mistress with a strong successful track record
    • Experience with youth development in various settings such as sports coaching, mentoring/counseling, etc.
    • Significant experience in senior management as you will be leading a boarding team
    • Proven record of success in leading student life programs
    • An awareness, understanding and experience of issues relating to safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of children
    • You are excited about our organizational culture—and in particular, you are fired up to challenge yourself by embracing mutual vulnerability and a firehose of feedback
    • You have a desire to further develop your learning design skills and apply them to transform the lives of African youth
