    Senior Manager - Indirect Channel

     

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Senior Manager - Indirect Channel within Enterprise Business Unit. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Detailed Description

    The role report to the Head of Department – Enterprise & Channels the role holder will formulate and ensure execution of the go to market strategy and indirect channel development plans. Allocate resources to ensure execution of partners and channels road map. Align the sales team on the go to market plan and channel development and management plans. To manage, develop, motivate and coach the team to ensure high productivity.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Formulate the go to market and acquisition plans through the dealers, partners & agencies.
    • Develop high level sales strategies necessary to deliver the partners and channels agreed sales objectives.
    • Develop an audit plan and tools to assess sales opportunities in the market.  
    • Manage the selection, growth, development, performance, motivation and recommend the reward of the team and support staff.
    • Mentor, coach and lead the team to enable them to realize their full potential. Clear development plans for each manager.
    • Review performance of the channels on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and ensure adherence to the use of agreed tools, processes and standards.
    • Manage alignment of all territory sales team to the partners and channels approved roadmap.
    • Manage execution of DOSA and ensure retention of high performing dealers and partners and termination of non-performers.
    • Proactively attend to all channel/SME customers related issues, ensure consistent quality of service provided, and get an excellent customer rating.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • B-com degree or equivalent from recognized university.
    • 5 years’ experience in sales management managing either indirect channels or a mix of direct and indirect, 3 of which must be in a management position with people management roles.
    • Experience in managing indirect channels in a telecoms environment is an added advantage

    Detailed Description

    The role report to the Head of Department – Enterprise Channels the role holder to lead the regional SME and Enterprise Operations team through the end to end operations through the customer life cycle. This will involve growing the SME revenue, reducing customer churn and ensure seamless end to end service delivery to the SME sector customers. Additionally, together with the regional sales & operations team, support the execution of the SoHo strategy in line with the business ambition.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Manage the SME and County Business acquisition and growth plans through the direct sales force, agents as well as dealers
    • Formulate and review the reporting tools to ensure effective performance management of both staff, agents and dealers managed.
    • Review territory reports and dealer performance reports from territory managers and formulate strategies to improve performance.
    • Coordinate all in life customer service delivery activities
    • Mentor, coach and lead territory managers, agents and partners to enable them to realize their full potential with clear development plans for each manager.
    • Coordinate development of an audit plan and the parameters to assess to identify opportunities in the market.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree from a recognized university preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Economics
    • An advanced degree will be an added advantage
    • At least 6-8 years’ experience in a large corporate or multinational company, demonstrated upward progression
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a technical sales environment with increasing responsibility
    • Must have experience in management of sales and sales support teams to deliver the targets

    IT Automation Lead

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following opportunity in the Digital IT within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief description

    Reporting to Senior Manager: - Systems Engineering, the position holder will be responsible for providing technical and team leadership in planning, development and delivery of Safaricom IT process automations. This includes interacting with user sections to establish their automation needs, analyzing the needs and applying existing and new technologies (e.g. RPA, power automate and intelligent workflows) to create seamless, automated and efficient processes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Define and manage the process automation roadmap in alignment with the overall process automation program
    • To provide technical leadership in architecting the process automation in the business and IT by working with the relevant teams as per the enterprise need
    • Governance and Standardization: - Document and implement business process automation governance and standards. This include code versioning, reference data management guidelines, code review process and other related software related processes.
    • Manage innovation to improve efficiency in business process automation, create simple efficient processes.
    • Scout new technologies and vendors to enable efficient and innovative process automation.
    • Reporting: - Maintain reports on team delivery performance, vendor delivery performance, and development resource schedule cycle time, velocity, throughput and other relevant process automation metrics.
    • Testing and Quality management: - Ensure unit testing is done and work hand in hand with the quality team to ensure that delivered developments are working optimally as per expected standards. This includes test plan and schedule development
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Lead in stakeholder engagement to enable indentification of business process automation opportunities and map their realization plans
    • Mentor team members to ensure optimal performance.
    • Engage the various business units heads to ensure continual adoption of automated business process and feedback for improvements.
    • 2nd line Support technical and team leadership: - Lead the support of developed automated solutions in ensuring all related services and products are operating optimally. This includes problem resolution and bug fixing for already deployed solutions as per ITIL & ISO guidelines.
    • Lead in Supplier engagement for delivery and 3rd line support as need may arise
    • Lead the team in optimal resource scheduling and allocation for delivery.
    • Lead the team in domain architecting for future proof solutions.
    • Research and development: - Take leadership in research and development including adoption of current ways of business process automation development and delivery. E.g. agile delivery, scrum methodologiesand other emerging methodologies.
    • Regular team and one-on-one engagements
    • Build the skillset according to the fit for future program
    • Team performance management

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years’ experience in a networked and dynamic IT environment at least 5 of those should be as a senior software developer or architecture role.
    • 5 years Software development with a bias in process automation.
    • Experience with the configuration, development, testing and deployment of automation solutions
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
    • Knowledge and experience with UIPath, Powerapps, Power automate and other automation tools systems is added advantage

    Engineer – SOC (Service Operations Center)

    Brief Posting Description

    • Reporting to the Team Manager – SOC (Service Operations Center), the position holder will be responsible for Managing all faults across the network. Operational Monitoring & Control with a view of proactive detection of events before they result to incidents. First line fault resolution of faults across the network

    Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure proper fault detection on either / all RAN, Transmission, CORE, DATA (Fixed/Mobile), VAS, M-PESA and IT Elements
    • Ensure first Line fault Resolution and identification of potential risks and actions taken to mitigate failure
    • Interface with RAN and Transmission Vendors/Managed Service Providers on escalated fault follow up
    • Provide governance in work order Change Management execution process and quality performance after execution to meet intended KPIs
    • Follow fault and incident management processes and carry out continuous follow-ups to deliver the defined KPIs
    • Ensure proper and documented follow-ups are done from start to end of events/incidents
    • Work closely with the Change and Logical Access team to ensure logical access for all key RAN, CORE, VAS, TRANSPORT and DATA tools is done efficiently and effectively
    • Develop, analyze and consume relevant daily/weekly/monthly reports on various key aspects of the SOC section
    • Work in a shift or function within the team

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Job Requirements                  

    • The candidate will holder of a University degree in electrical/electronic from a reputable institution with a bias in telecommunications / Computer Science.
    • CCNA certification/ CCNP certification
    • A minimum of 4 yrs. experience in Telecommunications.
    • Proven ability to self-start and effectively manage multiple assignments.
    • The ability to work under pressure and be resilient and tenacious to get results
