    Director, University Security Services - Grade 14

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Enforcement of University rules, regulations and procedures
    • Collection of intelligence
    • Safeguarding University property
    • Co-ordination of all Security operations
    • To be proactive and sensitive to security issues
    • Advising the University Management on security matters
    • Reviewing the security arrangements
    • Training of personnel on security awareness
    • Capacity to create a harmonious working relationship with all the teams; internal, external/private and seconded
    • Able to strengthen the working relationship with the National Security System

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Security related field from a recognized University
    • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
    • KCE Division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ and above
    • Served in the Discipline Forces and attained the rank of Senior Superintended of Police and above
    • Over fifteen (15) years’ work experience
    • Knowledge of Fire/Disaster Management and first aid
    • Knowledge of Intelligence collection/ investigations
    • Police Clearance certificate
    • Computer literate
    • Clean discharge certificate if applicable

    Key Qualifications and Experience:

    • An earned PhD degree in Philosophy from a recognized institution.
    • Master’s degree in Philosophy from a recognized University
    • At least three (3) years University teaching or research / industry experience
    • At least two (2) articles in refereed journals
    • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops

    Key Qualifications and Experience:

    Coach C/D: Main Campus

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Applicants must be holders of degree in a sports related field. In addition, applicants must have three (3) years experience as a coach.
    • Must possess a certificate in coaching Football (CAF Level C and above), Basketball (FIBA Module 1/2and above) or Handball (License D and above)
    • Must demonstrate ability to coach sports at a National level.
    • Must demonstrate ability to plan and implement training programs at the University.
    • Must possess a Certificate in First Aid.
    • Play experience at National team level will be an added advantage.
    • Must have at least 3 years coaching in institution of higher learning.

    Main duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive sports training programs.
    • Evaluate and select players to represent the university in various competitions.
    • Design and implement game strategies, including analysis and performance review.
    • Motivate and provide guidance to players.
    • Ensure the safety and wellbeing for players during training and competitions.
    • Schedule training sessions and maintaining accurate records and reports.
    • Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Director of Sports and Games.

    Coach Grade A/B: (Main, Parklands, Nakuru, Kitui and Mombasa Campuses)

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Must hold a diploma in a sports-related field.
    • Must possess a basic coaching certificate in Handball/Volleyball/Soccer or Basketball
    • Must have at least three (3) years’ experience coaching at a higher learning institution
    • Playing experience at National team level will be an added advantage.
    • Must possess a Certificate in First Aid.

    • Provide training support and oversee player development.
    • Monitor player performance and track progress.
    • Evaluate and select players to represent university in various competitions.

    Technician Grade A/B: Department of Environmental and Occupational Health

    The overall purpose of the job is the demonstration of critical skills to public health students within public health laboratories, field trips and public health installations.

    Qualifications and work experience:

    • At least a diploma in environmental health or public health from an accredited or recognized institution.
    • At least two (2) years industry / working experience.
    • Evidence of work experience in a teaching institution.
    • Laboratory / research experience is an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in computer applications.
    • Must be registered by public health and the technician’s council with a valid practicing license.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct practical teaching sessions to undergraduate students.
    • Actively participate in research activities within the field of public health.
    • Engage in community outreach initiatives related to public health.
    • Oversee and support the management of public health laboratory.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to students on career development.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the university through the relevant offices.

    Technician Grade A/B: Department of Chemistry

    Qualification and experience:

    • Must be a holder of KCE/Division III/KCSE Mean Grade C (plain) and above.
    • Ordinary National Diploma in the Analytical Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized institution
    • They must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy Teaching/Research Laboratory.
    • Computer literate.
