Job Purpose
To prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and light refreshments to Tenwek Hospital staff, patients, and walk-in guests while ensuring exceptional customer service, strict hygiene standards, and adherence to hospital policies. The Barista will also support special beverage requests for internal hospital meetings, functions, and events.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages (coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, etc.) in line with required quality standards.
- Customize beverages based on customer preferences, dietary needs, or medical guidance.
- Ensure consistency, efficiency, and professional presentation in all beverage preparations.
Customer Service
- Deliver warm, courteous, and professional service to staff, patients, and visitors.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and politely.
- Support special beverage orders and catering needs for hospital meetings, events, and conferences.
Operations & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, equipment, and utensils in accordance with hospital hygiene and safety regulations.
- Adhere to strict food safety and infection control procedures.o
- Monitor stock levels, request replenishment, and ensure proper storage, rotation, and usage of supplies.
Teamwork & Flexibility
- Collaborate effectively with the catering team and other hospital departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in additional catering tasks as required.
- Provide support during internal and external events hosted by CTC Tenwek Hospital.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certificate/Diploma in Food & Beverage Service or Hospitality.
- Barista certification.
- Previous experience as a Barista in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and modern beverage preparation techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sensitive hospital setting.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and infection control.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and support special events.

Job Purpose
- The jobholder is responsible for providing nursing services within the CTC Critical Care unit, in order that the patient/client receives quality care in line with hospital policies and hospital regulations.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
- Assess each of the assigned patients' needs.
- Organize and coordinate nursing care and medical treatments.
- Check vital signs of patients and record them accurately.
- Document assessments and interventions provided.
- Feed patients via nasal gastric tubes and other enteral tubes.
- Administer fluids and monitor patients' input and output.
- Administer medications to patients.
- Perform bed baths for bedridden patients and other hygiene tasks such as oral care.
- Perform daily routines such as cleaning around the station, bed making, and dump dusting.
- Protect patients from decubitus ulcers through turning and engaging in activities.
- Perform wound care as needed.
- Practice infection prevention techniques, including proper handwashing and waste handling.m
- Insert IV access for patients as required.
- Perform catheterization procedures.
- Assist with the ambulation of patients.
- Perform nebulization treatments.

Job Purpose
- The job holder function isto support the nursesin provision of efficient and compassionate delivery of patient care within a healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
- Assist the nurse with basic patient care activities such as bathing, and feeding.
- Help Nurses during patients care with mobility, including transferring from bed to chair walking, and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Support the nursing staff during patient assessments and treatments.
- Assist Nurses in wound care procedure when need be, including getting dressing packs, cleaning and disinfecting services to minimize infection prior to Wound dressing.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and follow-up visits.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking medical supplies as needed.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection e.g. dump dusting, disinfection
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Set up and clean medical equipment used in patient care and procedures.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure clear communication e.g. translation
- Relay patient concerns and observations to the nursing staff promptly.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on best practices for his or her role.
