Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Sales and Account Management Representative to join our team in Nairobi for a 1 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating potential customers, onboarding them, supporting them, and collecting data from them in person on the ground.

The person for this role is needed immediately and should be available to start on or before Friday 24th March 2023. The contract duration will be for 1 month with possible extensions as needed.

Reporting into: Chief of Staff - Technology

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a sales strategy to meet or exceed sales targets and increase customer base.
• Build strong relationships with potential and existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
• Conduct in-person sales pitches and presentations to educate potential customers on our products and services.
• Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical support to customers as needed.
• Work with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and campaigns to support sales efforts.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers and provide ongoing support as needed.
• Gather and analyze data from customers to identify areas for improvement and suggest product and service enhancements.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competition, and market changes to inform sales strategies.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in field sales and account management, preferably in a technology or software company.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and analyze data to inform sales strategies worked on using Google Docs, Sheets, Forms and/or Slides.
• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
• Must be based in Nairobi and ready to start immediately.

Job Summary

The Senior Backend Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the back end of the Wasoko web applications. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge, design skills in a distributed world, problem-solving as well as a deep understanding of building RESTful Services, designing using MQs, and Web applications and maintaining them.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications that meet user requirements and adhere to design and coding standards.
• Create and maintain databases for web applications and mobile applications.
• Develop, test, and deploy web applications and mobile applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug web applications and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of applications.
• Ensure the security and performance of web applications.
• Monitor and track web application usage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience with designing and developing REST APIs, using MQs and programming in Java, Springboot
• Very good designing and problem-solving skills and can work with minimal guidance.
• Seasoned coder, with good knowledge of various design patterns.
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Knowledge of application performance, monitoring and alerts.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Proficient in database design and development.
• Experience with mobile application development.
• Should be a good team player with good communication skills.
• E-commerce experience is an added advantage.
• Experience with web development and programming in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Designing, Developing machine learning algorithms and models to achieve business needs.
• Building machine learning pipelines to automate the process of model training, validation, and deployment
• Tuning hyperparameters and optimizing model performance

• Participating in the entire machine learning lifecycle, from problem definition and data collection to model deployment and maintenance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SQL, as well as tools and technologies for data engineering and manipulation, such as Hadoop and Spark will be expected.
• Would have used Machine learning libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus
• Have proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
