    Sales Officer - VEG

    • As the Sales Officer you will play a key role in ensuring service delivery as well as develop strategies to increase customer purchases.

    Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Input all order received into the sales tracking system.
    • Daily confirmation of orders to all clients by sending pack plans across to different clients
    • Data inputting for Farm sites.
    • Liaise with clients on day to day adjustment on orders
    • Prepare/analyse sales reports trends to assist management in decision making,
    • Ensure that all orders are in the system to get an accurate packaging requirements report and ensure any change/promos are clearly communicated to the packaging team in time.
    • Optimize quality of service, business growth e.g. by anticipating about their orders and suggesting promotions.
    • Develop strategies for more effective sales, both individually and as part of a team
    • Manage labor planning and allocations to ensure maximum efficiency as well as staff recruitment
    • Maintain optimum communication and relation with clients to ensure optimum customer satisfaction
    • Initiate and develop a strong relationship with customers
    • Determine customers' needs and collect customer feedback in relation to product orders
    • Brief the head of local sales on any important matters arising from daily communication with clients
    • Assist Claims Team with any client issues and help in communicating shipment reception by clients.

    Your profile

    • Diploma in marketing/sales/Administration
    • Experience in similar post and knowledge of fresh produce would be beneficial.
    • Experience in carrying our market research and developing analysis, papers, surveys and reports.
    • Availability to work Monday-Saturday.
    • Strong communication, presentation and sales skills. Must be an excellent telephone and face-toface communicator. Confident and enthusiastic communicator essential.
    • Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts, achieving genuine sales development.
    • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
    • Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with company executives at all levels.
    • Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.
    • Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Motivates self and others to achieve team objectives

    Production Manager - Chestnut Farm

    • As the Production Manager you will play a critical role in the oversight of Vegetable crop production across the Farm site, holding responsibility for ensuring the right land preparation is achieved before planting for optimum crop establishment. In addition, the Production Manager is the link between the Packhouse and the Field in terms of timely product supply, quantity and quality issues and will lead the team in preparation for farm audits and customer visits.
    • Ensuring that all customer complaints claims have been effectively investigated and effective root cause established.

    Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Manage irrigation and scheduling of irrigation based on different crop requirements and stages of production. Reduction of water wastage from leaks and over irrigation.
    • Lead the agronomy team to ensure that pest control is well managed and all pests and diseases are kept below threshold at all times.
    • Direct the Farm’s crop nutrition in terms of implementation of fertilizer plans, composting / manure application and foliar feeding
    • Manage the Field Managers working in the section and do regular staff performance of all team members.
    • Ensure timely crop support, coiling, tucking, stringing and removal
    • Maintain staff discipline and welfare in accordance with Company policies
    • Be in charge of the Health and Safety of all employees.
    • Plan all the farm/section operations for the month, week, and day in consultation with the Farm Manager.
    • Ensure that all crop husbandries i.e. land preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation and spraying etc are done to the highest possible standard.
    • Ensure that produce is picked on time, handled carefully and is of high quality in accordance with the Packhouse standards.
    • Communicate with Packhouse daily and make regular visit to confirm quality issues.
    • Ensure the company field operations adhere to customer standards (as per audit guidelines)
    • Handle and address any deviation on standards (customer responses)
    • Manage labour planning and allocations to ensure maximum efficiency as well as staff recruitment

    Your profile

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or Horticulture/ Diploma holders with extensive knowledge and experience.
    • Over 5 years’ hands on experience in a Vegetable/ Horticulture Farm.
    • Practical and decisive – understand how an effective and efficiently run growing operation can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
    • Ability to plan and meticulously organize the team to ensure optimum outcomes in adherence to quality, cost, and timeframe parameters.
    • Excellent people management and communication skills.
    • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues across the farm/ company.

    Stores Assistant

    Job objective

    • As the Stores Assistant you will play a vital role in ensuring you receive packaging and supplies (including spare parts) for all departments on the company’s behalf and dispatch as instructed by HOD.

    Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Keep an inventory of all items in the stores
    • Ensure Bin cards are well updated
    • Receive items/goods/or products and have the same properly entered in the Goods Received
    • Notes (GRNs) for processing by the Data Entry clerk
    • Prepare manual delivery notes for all items leaving the store
    • Dispatch goods as per HOD’s instructions
    • Maintain re-order levels and buffer stocks of all items
    • Conduct periodic stock take as per instructions
    • Accurately complete all related records and within stipulated deadlines and acceptable standards
    • Any other duty as given by the HOD
    • Ensure that loading/dispatch instructions from HOD are properly executed
    • Keep all Stores with items properly arranged
    • Daily, ensure the stores and its environs such as compound loading bay are clean
    • Supervise and provide instructions to Loaders and assist where necessary

    Your profile

    • Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field.
    • Over 2 years’ experience as a Stores Assistant
    • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.

    Senior Packaging Officer

    Job objective

    • As a Senior Packaging Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient management of all packaging related activities. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the coordination of packaging supplies, manage packaging in and out processes, and maintain accurate administrative records.     Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Coordinate packaging stock and internal requisitions from all farms on a weekly basis.
    • Prepare a comprehensive schedule for packaging requirements, ensuring accurate quantities.
    • Coordinate packaging orders to farms and manage movement between all sites.
    • Conduct periodic analysis of packaging usage and address any discrepancies with relevant managers.
    • Ensure optimal levels of packaging stock are maintained and manage slow-moving or obsolete items.
    • Monitor the turnaround time for new packaging orders and address any delays.
    • Raise Purchase Orders (LPOs) for packaging and follow up on approval.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of packaging orders.
    • Ensure prompt updating of packaging details in the inventory system and generation of Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
    • Provide instructions for packaging dispatch and ensure timely delivery notes are sent to recipients.
    • Verify the generation of system delivery notes and ensure prompt scanning to packhouses.
    • Ensure GRNs for dispatched packaging are accurately posted in the system by recipients.
    • Oversee the filing of GRNs from farm sites and plan periodic or unannounced stock counts.
    • Assist the Head of Imports with managing stocks of imported packaging.
    • Monitor and ensure optimal performance of the data clerk and store in-charge.

    Your profile

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 3 – 5yrs experience in packaging coordination or a similar role, preferably in the agricultural industry.
    • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement processes.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
    • Proficient Computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly with Excel.

You will ensure compliance with ethical principles and Quality Management Systems (QMS), while prioritizing safety, integrity, and conformity throughout the process chain. Your role also involves managing workforce dynamics, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering efficiency in operations.

    • Oversee overall operations in the packhouse, ensuring efficient grading and packing of flowers to customer-specified quantities and quality.

    Senior Technical Officer

    Job objective

    • As the Senior Technical Officer, you will give pack house technical support on micro compliance, cool chain control discipline and prime contact person for all finished product specifications to guarantee full compliance to food safety, integrity, legality, authenticity and quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensuring that all customer complaints claims have been effectively investigated and effective root cause established.

    Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Contact person with lab for all micro results.
    • Update and review the rapid test devices use, swab results and trends.
    • Update and review micro matrix to match existing customer expectation.
    • Follow up with both field and pack house teams to achieve accurate micro sampling regimes. 
    • Update micro data on the technical manager micro window.
    • Trend and update micro data and follow through with both field and pack house for improvement plan feedback on reported deviations.
    • Update and manage vikan cleaning equipment’s stocks.
    • Xsense platform contact person.
    • Temperature data loggers handling and download process contact person.
    • Together With pack house QA managers follow up on finished product release temperature and cool chain consistency.
    • Complete NPD / EPD request forms submissions and input all new products into the Veg sale database.
    • Together with the pack house QA and technical teams assemble and develop all finished product specifications and circulate upon approval.
    • Follow up on getting all new products specifications developed and approved by both technical and commercial heads of department for onward use by veg pack houses.
    • Familiarize with all customers finished product specifications and act as the contact person for all finished product specifications.
    • Ensure all finished product specifications are linked in both the technical manager and veg sales database.
    • Keep track of all finished product specifications and guide the pack house on product specifications acting as the contact person on linking product specifications on the veg sales manager database.
    • Flag out claims and customer complaints with the pack house QA and production teams.
    • Trend and update customer claims and follow through with veg pack houses on customer claims improvement plan feedback.
    • Follow up on local sales stores returns and act as the contact person between the pack house and sales team.
    • Actively engage in new product development, feedback and data analysis including gas data for continuous improvement, retain and maintain NPD data including NPD tracker.

    Your profile

    • Diploma/ Degree in Food Science, Industrial chemistry, or any other relevant field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
    • Membership or affiliation with relevant professional body or association.
    • 3-5 years’ experience preferably in Vegetable production.
    • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards and Internal auditing skills.
    • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
    • High moral standing with impeccable integrity.
    • Proficient Computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly with Excel.
    • Analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team player facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
