    Senior Associate, Corporate/Commercial (Mombasa)

    Qualifications, Experience, and knowledge:

    • An LL. B Degree with at least Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university.
    • At least Five (5) years – Seven (7) years of relevant post-admission experience in a reputable law firm.
    • Proven ability to manage client matters independently, including supervision of junior lawyers.
    • Proven experience in corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, and commercial transactions.
    • Expertise in entity set-up and registration (local and cross-border), corporate governance, and company secretarial support.
    • Strong advisory experience in regulatory compliance, licensing, and sector-specific frameworks such as financial services, real estate, ICT, and energy.
    • Advise clients on a broad range of commercial law matters including contract law, company law, energy, mining, projects and PPPs, capital markets, M&A, employment, and regulatory compliance.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, service agreements, procurement contracts, and technology contracts.
    • Undertake legal due diligence processes, deal structuring, and execution of corporate transactions.
    • Provide strategic legal advisory on employment matters, data protection, ESG, and anti-bribery compliance.
    • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), and Fintech.
    • Advise on structuring of businesses including family-owned-businesses, multinationals, not- for- profit organizations etc.
    • Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
    • Passionate and enthusiastic about the law and its developments.

    Associate Advocate, Real Estate Banking and Finance (Mombasa)

    Qualifications, Experience, and knowledge:

    • An LL. B Degree with at least Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university.
    • Admission to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid, current Practicing Certificate.
    • Three (3) to four (4) years of relevant post-admission experience in a reputable law firm.
    • Handled residential and commercial transactions related to real estate including drafting and reviewing sale agreements, leases, and transfers. Familiarity with the Sectional Properties Act and land-related due diligence is essential.
    • Experienced in the perfection of securities (Charges, Mortgages, Debentures etc) and ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of various financial institutions.
    • Highly proficient in drafting and negotiating transactional documents such as facility agreements, joint venture agreements, and legal opinions.
    • To be the primary point of contact for clients, financial lenders, and estate agents, providing regular status updates and professional advice.
    • Oversee the filing and registration process at various government registries (Lands, Companies, etc.) with the support of the clerical team.
    • Demonstrated high ethical standards and sound decision-making.
    • Meticulous approach to legal research and document proofing.
    • Demonstrate Commercial Awareness.
    • Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
    • Proven ability to work well with supervisors and support staff.
