    Project Coordinator - Community Engagement and Sponsorship Program (CESP)

    AP Coordination and Accountability - 15%

    • Coordinate achievement of programmatic objectives; planning, implementation and review of progress/DIPs, budget Utilization and ensure managers approval and endorsement of all plans
    • Coordinate regular planning, accountability and follow up of key performance indicators and overall quality assurance matters
    • Coordinate and follow up external engagement, collaborations and advocacy matters
    • Represent the Area Manager in County engagement forum as may be delegated
    • Participate in County sector specific forum and at sub county and ward levels as will be appropriate.
    • Coordinate resource acquisition matters as agreed upon with the manager.
    • Coordinate capacity building as per approved (by Manager) plan
    • Coordinate Integrated Sponsorship planning and monitoring
    • Coordinating ADP office managements & logistics

    Effective Community Engagement and Sponsorship Operations Planning and Implementation - 30%

    • Ensure Children meaningfully engaged in program activities
    • Community led Care and protection of children structures established and sustained.
    • Gift Notifications (GNs) are tracked, processed, closed at AP and NO and acknowledgement documentation sent to SO within the standard timeline as per the respective SO requirements.
    • Correspondences (SLs, ILs, queries, ELs etc) are tracked and processed within the standard time.
    • Facilitate production of sponsorship 2.0 products (Child Greeting Video (CGV), Child Special Moment Videos (CSMVs), Community Introductory Videos (YIVs) and Community Annual Photos (YAP)) as per guidelines/standards and timelines
    • Ensure RC level are maintained as per the AP plan
    • Ensure overage RC are dropped as per standards
    • Facilitate development of MOUs with LIs and timely funding of the LIs
    • RC are monitored within the standard timelines
    • Ensure CWB/case management issues are addressed as per standards
    • Facilitate timely implementation of birthday bounce backs and community gifts
    • Facilitate processing of APR and Christmas cards as per guidelines and timelines – ensure business processes are followed accordingly
    • Facilitate capturing of child and family participation and support
    • Facilitate children birth registration within the AP
    • Facilitate management of RC files
    • Ensure security of sponsor addresses/contacts
    • Facilitate effective management of RC death processes – timely reporting, development of detailed report, dropping of records, verbal autopsy
    • Facilitate effective sponsor/donor visits to the AP – ensure they sign child protection protocol and complete feedback questionnaire
    • Facilitate integration of child protection initiatives and take lead in case management – reporting of cases as per WV standards, follow for actions
    • Capacity assessment for LI conducted annually
    • Support roll out of new initiatives
    • Coordinate training & refresher courses and conduct regular monitoring to ensure that sponsorship standards and sponsorship business processes are adhered to in the AP/Local Institutions.
    • Facilitate coaching and mentoring to the AP sponsorship staff in order to attain better results in the sponsorship performance indictors/Dashboard.
    • Contextualize and adopt the use of training materials and methods which respond to local needs.
    • Prepare logistics for training events in a timely and cost effective manner.
    • Seek useful feedback from participants that will improve future capacity building.
    • Build capacity of partners effectively to collect monitoring data on CWB outcomes.

    Quality Assurance, Monitoring& Evaluation and Reporting - 20%

    • Facilitate development of CESP project annual operating plan (AOP)
    • Ensure timely implementation of activities and budgets sustained at acceptable level
    • Facilitate DME processes – assessments, AP re/design, baselines, project monitoriEng/implementation, evaluations, , transition processes,
    • Facilitate learning, review and reflection forums and documentation of best practices/change stories
    • Generating quality reports – activity reports, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual
    • Management of project management information system (horizon) – DIPs, ITTs, budgets and activity monitoring
    • Sharing of SSUI reports for management decision making
    • Support effective integration of Sponsorship operation interventions with other projects in the program.
    • Facilitate spiritual nurture of children in the AP
    • Support asset mapping against RC

    Advocacy Engagement and Networking - 10%

    • Effective representation of WVK in Child rights stakeholder meetings at county and sub-county levels.
    • Facilitate community forums – for planning, joint monitoring
    • Participation in National/International Child rights days at county and sub-county level.
    • Provide information to inform fund raising initiatives at national level
    • Facilitate community members to advocate on child wellbeing issues to relevant stakeholders
    • Support advocacy initiatives in the AP

    Resource Acquisition - 10%

    • Provide information to inform fund raising initiatives for education, gender, child protection and disability at all levels
    • Develop timely and accurate funding proposals in line with donor requirements and WVK standards in collaboration with ADP Manager and other sector specialists
    • Mobilize the community for community contribution for project interventions

    Partnering for performance - 10%

    • Facilitate target setting for supervisees and LI as per WV guidelines
    • Conduct staff performance reviews as per WVK guidelines
    • Institute consequence management as per WVK P&C policies and procedures
    • Supporting supervisees personal development as appropriate

    Others - 5%

    • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor or designee from time to time.
    • Participate and contribute in committees and task forces
    • Participate and lead devotions as appropriate

    Knowldge, Skills & Abilities

    • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related fields (Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Community development, Education, Community Health, Development Studies or any other related degree from a recognized University).
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in community development work which include Child Sponsorship Operations
    • Experience in Project Management including program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
    • At least 2 years’ experience in People Management/ Coordination
    • Knowledge of and experience working with the Government and community structures
    • Excellent communication, Networking and advocacy skills
    • Minimum 3 years of experience managing Child Sponsorship operations
    • Experience in managing sponsorship systems
    • Above average knowledge and experience in videography and photography.
    • Experience in working with and training local partners.
    • Understanding of a systems approach to child protection programming
    • Experience in implementing faith and development models and working with the church leaders
    • Demonstrate skills for relating and working with children.
    • Computer proficiency
    • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational and cultural diversity
    • Integrity and respect for various groups and individuals.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Technical Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership in the management and implementation of the WASH Technical Program in the National office
    • Provide leadership in the designing and adaptation of the WASH sector under Integrated Health and WASH Technical Program
    • Advise on implementation of approved WASH project models
    • Accountable to assess and track quality of implementation and alignment to standards, government policies and TP/DIP plans.
    • Conduct activities to assess quality in the field, solicit community and stakeholder feedback
    • In collaboration with the finance unit, ensure planning and budgeting, project funding, expenditures and process are aligned and operating smoothly
    • Lead the setting-up of the technical standards to be adhered to by all implementing staff and partners
    • Approve the technical detailed implementation plans
    • Prepare and produce technical program reports for dissemination to various stakeholders
    • Review and approve all the technical reports prepared from the field
    • Work closely with Strategy & Program Effectiveness unit to develop practical tools in monitoring and evaluation of the Technical Program
    • Develop operating business plan for the technical area in collaboration with the other technical managers and departments
    • Work with the MEAL function to ensure quality programming, innovative designs, monitoring, evaluation, reflection, learning and reporting of all projects in the WASH program
    • Promote research, documentation and scaling up of best practices
    • Ensure the development of the WASH capacity to focus strategically on initiatives which generate high quality programming leading to measurable and sustainable development
    • Ensure proper management and stewardship of donor and organizational resources
    • Ensure that findings and recommendations from various accountability mechanisms such as Peer Review, Operational and Finance Audits, Program evaluations, Program Capability Review, are acted upon in a timely and effective manner
    • Develop departmental risk register, ensure its implementation to mitigate risks and ensure accountability
    • Monitor the implementation of WASH audit recommendations
    • Develop proposals for WASH grants
    • Track accountability to WASH specific grants
    • Provide support to RAM in responding to appropriate request for applications for bilateral and multilateral sources in coordination with relevant SOs and management of grant funded program
    • In collaboration with the Resources Acquisition & Management Team, develop and market quality concepts, proposals, partner profiles and capacity statements to increasing funding portfolio for the technical program and related grants
    • In coordination with RAM Department develop annual growth plans for the technical program area in line with the National Office strategy.
    • Actively engage in funding negotiations with support offices and coordination with RAM Department and in alignment with Regional Grants Acquisition & Management Strategy & the Regional Working Group Decisions
    • Provide advice on donor management (government/private donors and support offices) ensuring proper resolutions
    • Provide support to RAM in responding to appropriate request for applications for bilateral and multilateral sources in coordination with relevant SOs and management of grant funded program
    • Actively participate in the “Go / No-go” decision making process and ensure that all risks are addressed consistently.
    • Develop and maintain a national level Stakeholder Register, (that include Strategic Government Departments, Development Partners, Private Sector, Faith Based Organizations, Civil Society Organizations)
    • Networking with national WASH stakeholders
    • Representing NO at sector-related forums
    • Attending regional, national and local meetings as appropriate
    • In coordination with Program Effective and Impact Director and Support Offices, develop and maintain pro-active relationships with bilateral and multilateral representatives in the country.
    • Maintain effective communications and pro-active relationships with Support Office partners, including visits by donors.
    • In coordination with the Program Effective and Impact Director, develop and maintain good relationships with national government ministries, other NGOs and the development sector in general.
    • In coordination with the Senior Management Team ensure implementation of Partnership initiatives, capacity building of national office staff and knowledge sharing within the NO.
    • In coordination with the PE&I Director, and program staff, participate in national level coalitions on specific advocacy issues.
    • In the spirit of twin citizenship, contribute to knowledge sharing and collaborative learning through internal avenues such annual reflection forum
    • Model a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity through lifestyle and work relationships that support spiritual development of the team.
    • In close collaboration with P&C, ensure right program staff are recruited, retained, and provided with intentional opportunities, mentored and coached for development.
    • Assess and plan for staff capacities/competencies.
    • Engage appropriate SMEs for identified training gaps
    • Facilitate capacity building of staff on technical modules, through trainings, workshops, OJT, technical backstopping etc.
    • Staff supervision and guidance to ensure overall quality and comprehensive management of technical program.

    Knowledge/Qualifications For The Role

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Water Engineering.
    • Registered and current member of EBK and IEK. Professional Engineers (PE) are highly encouraged to apply as this will be an added advantage.
    • Master’s degree in a Management or WASH relevant profession.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of progressive leadership in WASH programs with a thorough understanding of all areas of project management cycles in a complex, international development organization especially in development and Relief Projects. 5 years should have been at a managerial level.
    • Proven experience in water supply, improved operational efficiency, GIS, Operation and Maintenance of water project, and implementation of water supply sustainable models.
    • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation tools, indicator tracking and reporting and general quality assurance in project implementation.
    • Prior experience in engaging with donors, government institutions e.g. WASREB, WSTF etc and other WASH related civil societies on non-construction WASH related interventions.
    • Expertise in onsite rural Sanitation and Hygiene works, Water resource management, rangeland management, disaster Risk Management and water safety plans for WASH projects. This includes Water Quality Testing, Monitoring and reporting.
    • Good experience in construction contract project design and management.
    • Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).
    • Knowledge and application of auto/arch CAD, Epanet and GIS
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Outlook
    • Ability to take initiative as team leader & able to work with minimum supervision
    • Experience working at community level; community engagement skills
