    Sales Specialist - Construction & Industrial Chemicals

    The Sales Specialist for Construction & Industrial Chemicals is responsible for driving sales growth by building and managing a high-performing distribution network. You will develop distributors, contractors, industrial plants, and construction firms to increase market share and ensure product availability. A core part of this role involves strategic territory planning, technical product consultation, and diligent management of accounts receivable to maintain financial health.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Distribution Network Development: Identify, recruit, onboard, and manage a robust network of distributors and dealers across Kenya to ensure comprehensive market coverage.
    • Strategic Sales & Market Expansion: Actively grow market presence by identifying new business opportunities within the construction, manufacturing, and industrial maintenance sectors. Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
    • Relationship & Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key distributors, specifiers (architects, engineers), contractors, and end-user clients. Provide technical support and training on product application and benefits.
    • Debt Collection & Cash Flow Management: Proactively manage the credit control process for your territory. Ensure timely collection of outstanding debts, reconcile accounts, and maintain an aged debtors book within company policy to ensure healthy cash flow.
    • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback. Report on market dynamics and provide insights to guide product and sales strategy.
    • Sales Administration: Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and itineraries using CRM systems. Manage product demonstrations and participate in trade shows or industry events.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration.
    • Minimum 2-3 years of proven B2B sales experience, specifically in construction chemicals, industrial lubricants, coatings, adhesives, or related building/industrial products.
    • In-depth understanding of the Kenyan construction and industrial sectors, including key players, project cycles, and procurement processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans, negotiate contracts, and close deals. A strong target-driven and results-oriented mindset.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of clients and channel partners.

    Sales Specialist - Consumer & Agri-Business Products

    The Sales Specialist for Consumer & Agri-Business products will focus on building a pervasive distribution network to get our products into retail outlets, wholesalers, and agro-dealers across Kenya. Your role is critical in executing route-to-market strategies, driving volume growth, and ensuring brand visibility. Success requires a blend of trade marketing, relationship management, and rigorous financial oversight to collect payments and grow a sustainable business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Distribution Network Expansion: Develop and nurture a wide-reaching and efficient network of distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, retail outlets, and agro-dealers to achieve maximum product availability and visibility.
    • Sales Growth & Territory Management: Implement structured journey plans to service and grow accounts within your assigned territory. Actively seek new channels and customers to drive sales volume and increase market penetration for both consumer and agri-product portfolios.
    • Trade & Relationship Management: Build strong partnerships with distributors and key trade accounts. Train and motivate their sales teams, execute merchandising standards, and support local promotional activities to stimulate demand.
    • Credit Control & Collections: Take full ownership of the debt collection process for your accounts. Monitor credit limits, follow up on overdue payments diligently, and ensure minimal bad debt to support company cash flow objectives.
    • Market Execution: Ensure compliance with pricing strategies, monitor stock levels at distributor and retail levels, and gather competitive intelligence on pricing, promotions, and new products.
    • Reporting & Planning: Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, market feedback, and collection updates. Utilize data to plan activities and resource allocation effectively.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration
    •  2-3 years of successful field sales experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector, Agri-inputs (seeds, fertilizers, crop protection), or consumer durables, with a focus on distributor management.
    • Strong understanding of the Kenyan retail trade landscape, wholesale channels, and the agricultural sector. Familiarity with seasonal agri-cycles and consumer buying behavior.
    • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Strong negotiation and closing skills.
    •  Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with distributors, retailers, farmers, and internal teams. Ability to conduct product training sessions.

    Warehouse Manager

    The Warehouse Manager will oversee all warehouse operations for otrovato, ensuring efficient handling of imported sourced goods. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, fast order fulfillment, cost control, and compliance with Kenyan regulations while supporting sales and distribution activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Optimize warehouse layout to support high SKU volume typical in trading businesses
    • Manage day-to-day warehouse operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching.
    • Oversee container unloading from the ports (Mombasa or ICD Nairobi) and ensure proper receiving procedures.
    • Oversee container offloading into the warehouse, ensuring goods are handled safely and received in good condition with no damage, in line with approved receiving procedures.
    • Conduct visual inspections during offloading, record any damage or shortages, and coordinate immediate reporting with supply chain, finance when discrepancies occur.
    • Ensure proper documentation of container receipt, including seal verification and condition reports.
    • Ensure timely dispatch of goods to customers, distributors, and retailers.
    • Implement FIFO / FEFO practices, especially for fast-moving or expiry-sensitive products.
    • Ensure accurate processing of GRNs, delivery notes, pick lists, and stock transfers.
    • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement on inbound shipments and replenishment.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in warehouse or logistics environment.
    • Proven experience coordinating with transporters and clearing & forwarding agents.

    • Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse best practices.
    • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills
