    Deputy Manager, Marketing & Communications

    Job Summary

    • The Group Deputy Marketing & Communications Manager serves as the second in line to the Group Marketing & Communications to support ICEA LION’s strategic objectives through development and delivery of strategic marketing and communications initiatives. The role involves managing the wider Marketing & Communications team as well as departmental activities involving but not limited to: conceptualization, formulation, management and implementation of strategies that build affinity for the corporate and company brands and promotes sustained profitability whilst ensuring that the customer’s delight is at the core of all engagements. The role has responsibility for Marketing Operations and is a strong resource in support of Business Continuity who is tasked with engaging with various stakeholders in the business as well as providing leadership within the Marketing & Communications Department.
    • Over and above the Group/Brand responsibilities, the role provides strategic marketing support to the Group’s eight businesses across Kenya (4), Uganda (3) and Tanzania (1) covering our financial products and services in the spheres of insurance, pensions, investments and trusts.
    • Under the strategic guidance of the Group Head, Marketing & Communications, this role focuses on meeting the requirements of the various business strategies

    Key Responsibilities

    • Marketing Strategy & Campaigns
    • Develop and execute marketing strategies to support product launches, business growth and customer engagement
    • Plan and manage multi-channel campaigns (digital, print, events, PR) tailored to identified audiences
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities
    • Brand Management
    • Maintain consistent brand messaging across all platforms and materials
    • Oversee the development of marketing collateral including brochures, presentations, videos and reports
    • Digital Marketing & Content
    • Manage digital marketing initiatives including website, email marketing, SEO/SEM and social media
    • Create and oversee the content calendar, ensuring high-quality and compliant content that resonates with key audiences
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with Group and Company teams, including BD, product, legal/compliance and executive teams to align marketing and communication initiatives with business objectives
    • Coordinate client and industry events, webinars and sponsorships as required to meet business objectives
    • Reporting & Analytics
    • Measure campaign performance and report on key KPIs including ROI, engagement and brand reach
    • Recommend improvements based on data-driven insights
    • Planning, Budgeting & Resource Management
    • Develop strategies, initiatives and budgets to deliver on ICEA LION Group’s business strategic objectives
    • Manage the marketing & communications expenditure to ensure attainment of objectives as per approved budget
    • Manage project allocation and professional development of team members to deliver on strategy 
    • Collaborate with relevant collaborators including the business development teams, customer experience team, digital, data & analytics, research and development and customer insights to deploy and deliver on approved initiatives.
    • A senior resource to support Business Continuity who effectively engages with various stakeholders across the organization and externally.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or related field and over 6-8 years’ experience in a similar role in marketing & communications, preferably in a service-oriented industry
    • Strong understanding of financial products and regulatory environments
    • Proven experience with digital marketing tools, CRM platforms and analytics tools
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

    Group Brand Executive

    Job Summary

    • The role of the Group Brand Executive is a strategic role that supports the development and execution of brand strategies in alignment with corporate goals and objectives. The role drives brand building and brand consistency, managing campaigns, and elevating the brand experience across all customer touchpoints.
    • Over and above the Brand responsibilities, the role provides support to the Group’s eight businesses across Kenya (4), Uganda (3) and Tanzania (1) covering our financial products and services in the spheres of insurance, pensions, investments and trusts.This role requires a balance of creative thinking, data-driven insight, and strong project management skills.
    •  This role, focuses on meeting the requirements of the brand and marketing strategy under the strategic guidance of the Group Head, Marketing & Communications.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Brand Strategy & Planning
    • Assist in developing and implementing brand strategies that enhance brand equity and market positioning.
    • Contribute to annual brand planning, competitive bench marking, and customer perception analysis.
    • Support the articulation of brand messaging, tone of voice and visual identity across business units.
    • Campaign Development & Execution
    • Lead and coordinate brand campaigns across digital, print, and experiential platforms.
    • Collaborate with creative teams, media agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality and timely execution of campaigns.
    • Ensure brand campaigns align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Content & Communication
    • Ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms, channels and customer segments.
    • Review and approve creative deliverables to ensure they meet brand and compliance standards.
    • Stakeholder Management
    • Work cross-functionally with product, BD, compliance, HR and other teams to ensure brand alignment in all customer and employee communications.
    • Manage agency relationships, including briefing, feedback and performance evaluation.
    • Research & Insights
    • Monitor brand performance through market research, customer feedback and internal data.
    • Analyze brand KPIs such as awareness, perception, engagement, and campaign ROI.
    • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Governance & Brand Guidelines
    • Maintain and update brand guidelines and toolkits.
    • Conduct periodic training and audits to ensure adherence to brand standards across departments.
    • Planning, Budgeting & Resource Management
    • Manage the brand & communications expenditure to ensure attainment of objectives as per approved budget

    Requirements

    • Strong knowledge of branding principles, campaign planning, and consumer behavior.
    • Proficient in digital marketing, content creation, and marketing analytics.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. 

    Preferred Skills

    • Familiarity with financial services products and regulatory marketing practices.
    • Experience with creative software/tools, CMS, and CRM platforms.
    • Ability to interpret data and present insights to leadership teams.
    • Strong vendor and agency management experience.
