    Head of Finance (Interior Design)

    Role Purpose

    • The Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership across the organization’s African operations, partnering with the Managing Director and senior leadership to drive profitability, sustainable growth, strong financial governance, risk management, and effective capital allocation.
    • The role will oversee financial planning and analysis, project finance, treasury, working capital, procurement finance, taxation, compliance, financial reporting, and regional finance operations. The position will also provide strategic oversight of Human Resources and Administration across the region.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Financial Leadership

    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Advise senior leadership on financial performance, investments, risks, and growth opportunities.
    • Drive profitability, cash generation, cost efficiency, and return on investment.
    • Support regional expansion and strategic business initiatives.

    Commercial & Project Finance

    • Oversee financial performance of projects and business operations.
    • Lead project costing, pricing, tender reviews, budgeting, and commercial negotiations.
    • Review major project budgets, BOQs, supplier contracts, and commercial proposals.
    • Monitor project margins and implement corrective measures where necessary.

    Financial Planning & Performance

    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and long-term financial planning.
    • Prepare management reports and business performance analysis.
    • Monitor financial performance across projects, business units, and regions.
    • Provide insights to improve revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.

    Treasury & Working Capital

    • Develop cash management and treasury strategies.
    • Oversee cash-flow forecasting, liquidity, receivables, payables, and inventory.
    • Manage banking relationships, financing facilities, and funding requirements.
    • Optimize working capital and project cash cycles.

    Governance, Risk & Controls

    • Establish and maintain effective financial controls and governance frameworks.
    • Lead financial, operational, commercial, compliance, and people-related risk management.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
    • Strengthen controls across Finance, Procurement, Inventory, HR, Administration, and Operations.

    Procurement & Inventory Finance

    • Provide financial oversight of procurement and supply-chain activities.
    • Ensure procurement decisions support profitability and cash-flow objectives.
    • Oversee inventory valuation, stock controls, and inventory optimization.
    • Monitor supplier financial performance and minimize waste, leakage, and cost overruns.

    Regional Finance, HR & Administration

    • Provide strategic oversight of Finance, HR, and Administration across regional operations.
    • Ensure compliance with local tax, employment, labour, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee regional reporting, cross-border transactions, foreign exchange, and transfer pricing.
    • Standardize policies, procedures, controls, and reporting across regional offices.
    • Support workforce planning, organizational development, and administrative efficiency.

    Tax, Audit & Compliance

    • Oversee tax planning, compliance, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, regulators, banks, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely audits and strong audit outcomes.
    • Maintain compliance across all operating entities and jurisdictions.

    Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop Finance, HR, and Administration teams.
    • Build organizational capability to support growth and regional expansion.
    • Drive performance management, succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement.
    • Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and organizational effectiveness.
    • Support change management and leadership development initiatives.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification – mandatory.
    • Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline – preferred.
    • 10–15 years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
    • Experience in project-based industries such as construction, interior fit-outs, retail, manufacturing, engineering, or equipment distribution.
    • Experience advising senior management and contributing to business strategy.
    • Proven experience managing multi-country finance operations, preferably within East Africa or similar regional markets.
    • Experience overseeing Finance, HR, Administration, and shared services functions.
    • Strong knowledge of regional tax, employment, regulatory, and governance requirements.

    Heavy Structural Steel Project Coordinator

    Job Purpose

    • The Heavy Structural Steel Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering structural steel projects from contract award through fabrication, delivery, erection, and final handover. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while serving as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the execution of structural steel projects, including fabrication, logistics, site erection, and handover.
    • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely project delivery.
    • Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Monitor project costs, manage variations, claims, and contractual documentation, and report commercial risks.
    • Review structural drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
    • Coordinate material procurement and delivery to support fabrication and installation schedules.
    • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with company and statutory standards.
    • Prepare regular project progress reports for management and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Project Management certification is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum 7–10 years' experience managing heavy structural steel projects within the structural steel fabrication or construction industry.
    • Must have experience delivering projects such as factories, warehouses, industrial plants, commercial buildings, PVC Installations and other structural steel works.
    • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction methodologies.
    • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, and multiple stakeholders.

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Ability to interpret structural and fabrication drawings.
    • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, welding, erection, and quality control.
    • Good understanding of construction contracts, project planning, cost control, and risk management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar software is an advantage.
    • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

    Credit Controller (Interior Design)

    Role Purpose

    • The Credit Controller will manage the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, ensuring accurate billing, effective credit control, timely collections, customer account reconciliation, credit risk management, and compliance with applicable tax requirements.
    • The role will also deputize for the Head of Finance when required, supporting month-end close, management reporting, cash-flow management, statutory compliance, and supervision of junior finance staff.

    Key Responsibilities

    Billing & Invoicing

    • Prepare accurate invoices based on contracts, LPOs, deliveries, certified milestones, and approved variations.
    • Ensure timely and compliant issuance of electronic tax invoices and credit notes.
    • Verify pricing, quantities, contract values, discounts, and applicable taxes before invoicing.
    • Ensure all completed work and deliverables are billed promptly.

    Credit Control & Collections

    • Manage the debtors’ ledger and drive collections against agreed targets.
    • Follow up overdue accounts through statements, calls, meetings, and client visits where necessary.
    • Negotiate payment plans and escalate problem accounts appropriately.
    • Work with Sales, Projects, and Operations to resolve issues affecting customer payments.
    • Recommend suspension of supply, debt collection, or legal action where required.

    Credit Risk Management

    • Manage customer credit applications, KYC documentation, references, and verification.
    • Recommend credit limits and payment terms and monitor customer exposure.
    • Review customer creditworthiness and payment history regularly.
    • Advise management on credit risks relating to customers, contracts, tenders, and payment terms.

    Customer Accounts & Reconciliation

    • Allocate customer receipts accurately and promptly.
    • Conduct monthly customer account reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
    • Process credit notes, refunds, and write-offs in line with approval procedures.
    • Maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for customer accounts.

    Contract & Retention Management

    • Track contract retentions and follow up on their release when due.
    • Monitor advance payments, guarantees, contract variations, and certified values.
    • Reconcile contract amounts against invoices and payments received.

    Tax & Statutory Compliance

    • Ensure correct tax treatment on sales transactions.
    • Support VAT preparation and compliance.
    • Reconcile withholding taxes and related certificates.
    • Ensure sales records and electronic tax invoices are accurately reflected in financial records and tax returns.

    Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare regular debtors’ ageing and collections reports.
    • Maintain rolling collections and cash-flow forecasts.
    • Monitor DSO, overdue balances, collection efficiency, and major debtor exposures.
    • Support expected credit loss assessments and recommendations for provisions or write-offs.
    • Present receivables performance to management when required.

    Deputizing for Head of Finance

    • Act on behalf of the Head of Finance during periods of absence, within delegated authority.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
    • Assist with short-term cash-flow forecasting and payment prioritization.
    • Oversee timely statutory filings and payments when acting in the role.
    • Liaise with auditors, banks, regulators, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders as required.
    • Supervise, coach, and allocate work to junior finance staff.
    • Support implementation of finance policies, controls, and process improvements.

    Audit & Internal Controls

    • Prepare receivables schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
    • Support customer balance confirmations and resolution of audit queries.
    • Maintain strong controls over invoicing, credit notes, receipts, and customer accounts.
    • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and follow up on control weaknesses.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA (K) or ACCA qualified.
    • 5–7 years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related finance function, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
    • Broader finance experience covering month-end closing, management accounts, cash-flow forecasting, and statutory compliance.
    • Practical knowledge of Kenyan tax requirements, including VAT, electronic tax invoicing, withholding tax, and tax filing systems.
    • Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics/Navision, Odoo, or QuickBooks.
    • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and reporting.
    • Good understanding of IFRS, particularly revenue and receivables accounting.

    Desirable

    • Experience in construction, fit-out, contracting, manufacturing, or other project-based industries.
    • Experience with retentions, contract variations, milestone billing, and performance guarantees.
    • Experience managing large corporate or retail customer accounts.
    • Previous experience deputizing for a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Head of Finance.
    • Credit management certification and/or professional accounting membership.
