    Clearing & Forwarding Manager

     Strategic Oversight

    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize clearing and forwarding operations in alignment with organizational goals.
    • Identify opportunities for business growth, operational improvements, and cost efficiencies.
    • Provide strategic input for decision-making on key logistics and supply chain initiatives.
    • Monitor industry trends and innovations to keep the organization competitive and compliant.

    Operations Management

    • Oversee the end-to-end clearing and forwarding operations for both imports and exports.
    • Ensure strict compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and international trade laws.
    • Coordinate with shipping lines, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to promptly resolve operational issues.
    • Monitor cargo tracking systems to ensure timely and accurate delivery to clients.

    Documentation and Compliance

    • Ensure accurate preparation and submission of all customs documentation.
    • Monitor updates in customs laws, regulations, and industry practices to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain records for audits and compliance purposes.

    Risk Management

    • Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics, customs clearance, and compliance.
    • Develop and implement contingency plans to handle operational disruptions.

    Financial Oversight

    • Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Analyse and report on operational expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Monitor billing and ensure timely payment collection from clients.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of clearing and forwarding across Uganda and Kenya.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team efficiency and capability.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in customs operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
    • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade practices.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics management systems and software.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

    HR Site Associate

    Key Responsibilities

    • Leave Management: Efficiently manage leave requests for direct staff members.
    • Employee Onboarding: Facilitate a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring timely issuance of contracts.
    • Employee Relations: Act as a key point of contact for addressing employee concerns or grievances, fostering a positive work environment.
    • Performance Management: Support the performance evaluation process for direct staff members.
    • HR Data Management: Maintain accurate HR records and data, including employee files, attendance records, and training documentation.
    • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate processing of payroll for all employees, including verification of timesheets, salary adjustments, and deductions.
    • Compliance and Legal Requirements: Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and ensure compliance with employment regulations and internal policies.
    • Client Retention and Growth: Drive retention and growth of the existing customer base through exceptional service delivery and maintaining strong client relationships.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a HR practitioner or in an operations role in a dynamic business environment.
    • Minimum diploma in Human Resource Management or business-related field from a reputable institution.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and HRMIS systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
