    Head – Corporate Remedial Credit

    Reference number HCRC/CMD/2022

    Reporting to the Head – Remedial Credit, the role-holder will Provide leadership in pre-delinquency and post-delinquency management of corporate arrears by putting in place pre-delinquency measures, portfolio segmentation, collection process and workflow process documented detailed solutions and systems for direct and oversight management of the collection process for lower NPL and provisions.

    The Role

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Provide leadership in the management of Corporate Remedial Credit NPL book with the overall management of non-performing corporate & co-operatives debts to prevent further deterioration and maintain NPL to Loan ratios below the industry.
    • To maximize loan recoveries and write back to P & L accounts from the non-Performing portfolio through aggressive direct recoveries/viable restructuring/negotiating workouts or realization of assets or litigation.
    • Facilitating the application of various remedial solutions/product offerings to delinquent accounts based on customer profiling and/or customer segment.
    • To provide leadership to a team of dedicated remedial management staff by setting challenging and granular objectives, monitoring individual daily activities, motivating, training/coaching and supporting to ensure the achievement of allocated targets.
    • To take over management of Corporate non-performing accounts from all branches/business units and through centralization of the recovery process, enhance frontline productivity of branch managers, bankers and RMs.
    • Recommending to the Board of Management /Finance, the appropriate levels of loan loss provisions.
    • Work with frontline staff to ensure loans and other advances are being serviced and ensure they are trained on the assessment of delinquency risk and subsequent management including structured timely transition
    • Managing a highly motivated, well-trained, highly productive and objective-driven group
    • Strict adherence to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices and all internal processes and procedures as per the relevant manuals and compliance with all relevant external legislation and regulations with regard to Compliance requirements.
    • Conduct field customer visits (on need basis) to follow up on payment promises and assess the viability of repayment proposals
    • Ensure that all risk management requirements within your Unit are addressed and where necessary escalated through the available defined channels
    • Execute the Bank strategy in NPL management and reduction
    • Monitor and report all risks associated with debt collection

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

    The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –

    • A university degree in a Business-related field from a recognized university with at least 5 years of banking experience in debt collection and recovery environment 
    • Knowledge/experience in account relationship management /Credit Management is an added advantage
    • Knowledge of the provisions of the Bank’s credit policy, lending manuals and CBK Prudential Guidelines & Banking Act.
    • Good analytical, negotiation and financial analysis skills as well as being an excellent communicator with the ability to set and meet stretch targets and deadlines. Excellent understanding of financial statements and credit products in the Banking sector. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term and trusted relationships.

    Head – ICT Risk and Control

    Reference Number: H–R&C/IID/2022

    Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the role holder will be required to provide leadership and continuous independent assurance on the bank’s Information Security risks as regards confidentiality, integrity and availability of the IT infrastructure, processing systems and related resources in line with the Bank Information Security Policies.

    The Role 

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Provide leadership and direction on technology risks and controls and recommend corrective controls. 
    • Research Industry trends on technology risks, Proactively assess, detect, and identify system threats and formulate corrective actions and controls.
    • Proactively ensure that the Bank complies with all technology-related legal and regulatory requirements 
    • Review of operating and information systems to ensure that they support business functions in a controlled manner, identify issues that represent risks to the business, report findings and prepare reports for management information
    • Development of and involvement in the independent review of technology-related procedures, product programs and projects to ensure appropriate technology is incorporated and that Bank technology policies are complied with.
    • Review relevant system logs and events (using various tools) to identify and report on activities not consistent with the Bank Information Security policies, guidelines and standards.
    • Carry out information security reviews along the various phases of project lifecycles, as provided in the Bank’s project management framework, and recommend required controls.
    • Regularly report on ICT Risks to Management and Board Audit & Risk Committee as well as send a weekly report to the Executive Management on the cyber risks and follow through on closure of risks identified with TES & ICT Security teams.
    • Participation in the formulation of Risk Acceptance criteria while developing and maintaining ICT Risk Registers.
    • Facilitate an information security awareness program for all employees.
    • Be aware of application, product and system development within the business and appraise the effect and appropriateness of planned changes to the existing control framework.
    • Ensure that the Bank’s information security policies, procedures and guidelines are incorporated into all application, product, systems and services lifecycles.
    • Maintain a relationship with internal and external auditors to guide their activities as regards Bank technology and processes and support implementation of agreed corrective actions.
    • Attend relevant training on emerging trends and practices within the information security industry.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices and all internal processes and procedures as per the relevant manuals and comply with all relevant external legislation and regulations with regard to compliance requirements.

    Skills, Competencies and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a Business-related field
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor/ Certified Information Systems Manager certification
    • Good understanding of risk and systems security control processes
    • Managerial and team leadership experience 
    • A good understanding of the Bank’s organizational structure, products and services 
    • Understanding of Information Systems architecture and operational practices 
    • Proven experience in the information security or systems audit function 
    • Experience in performing analytical roles in complex business environments 
    • Experience in the implementation of an ISMS against the ISO 27001 standard
    • Experience in the development & Implementation of RSCAs and BIA

    Desirable knowledge/skills and Experience Required:

    • IT security and risk certifications e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, etc. 
    • Advanced computer skills including skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
    • Training in IT infrastructure and operating systems, Project Management, and Implementing Information security policies

    User Experience Designer

    Reporting to the Head-Digital Banking, the User Experience Designer will work with cross-functional teams to ensure the creation of engaging, positive, user experiences and intuitive interfaces for device, mobile and application solutions created for Co-op bank customers. In this role, you will define interaction models, user task flows, User Interface specifications & requirements, communicate user scenarios, end-to-end experiences and screen designs to stakeholders. You will work with business members, technology partners, analysts, and visual designers to develop and incorporate the Co-op bank brand device experience.

    The role

    The successful jobholder will be expected to:

    • Acts as a lead on all projects tasked with making complex user experience decisions and assist in the definition and translation of business/functional requirements into user flows and wireframes.
    • Facilitate user experience design thinking sessions to identify business and technical requirements for technology, research and business initiatives to ensure that designs are successfully created and implemented to achieve the user goals.  
    • Develop overall user experience, interaction design and information architecture for technology and business initiatives at the level of detail and rigor needed by those who must base their work on the design.  
    • Use a variety of analytical techniques to gather and analyze design requirements (e.g. interviews, facilitated workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases, workflow analysis, observations, etc.)  This includes creating site maps, flows, wireframes, prototypes and design specifications; analyzing usability test results; and developing user experience design briefs.
    • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources with the aim of resolving conflicts and providing information to support interaction design prioritization and tradeoff decisions.  
    • Define process improvements for the user experience team and works with the leadership team to communicate and uphold user experience standards.
    • Work with creative & visual leads and technical leads to understand technical systems and constraints so that design solutions are technically feasible and optimal and to co-evolve experience solutions through an iterative design process.
    • Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary design strategies to ensure a “best approach” design with every project
    • Define and prioritize design schedules, milestones and deliverables on multiple project initiatives in addition to building/advocating the development of UI guidelines, standards and requirements that serve as the foundation for designing cohesive experiences.
    • Act as an internal consultant and subject matter expert by staying on top of changing UX design technologies, as well as corporate, organization, and industry standards to ensure leading-edge interpretation and execution of design applications and to provide business and technical guidance where appropriate.

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

    The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –

    • A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or Business related field with relevant IT Professional qualifications. Graphic or Visual Design, Digital Media Design, other visual specialties, or any other related qualifications will be an added advantage. 
    • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a role directly related to web design, UX Design / Front-end mobile-web development experience, product design, product management, production management, and marketing.
    • Strong technical proficiency with UX tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Creative problem solver with experience leading projects and building consensus with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to scope and estimate efforts accurately, prioritize tasks and goals independently and rapidly produce deliverables in a fast-paced iterative environment.
