    Sopra CoE Specialist

    The Position:

    The IT Digital Channels Unit, within the Banking Systems Operations Department, is charged with the responsibility of Support, and Technical Operations, of the Digital Channels, and Middleware Systems within the Bank. The unit supports the Digital Banking in the areas of Mobile Banking, Card systems and Merchant Acquiring, Agent Banking, Internet Banking and International Money Transfers (Both branch based and Digital IMTs).

    The Sopra CoE Specialist is responsible for coordinating and applying proven analytical and problem-solving skills, to help validate requests through collaboration with other functional teams and ensure seamless resolution of Sopra issues to support business strategy and entrench best practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Works closely with various business functions and advice on Best Practice on Sopra.
    • Manages contract performance and nurture skills that advances the IT Banking Systems Operations strategy on Sopra.

    Manager Vooma

    The Position:

    The Manager Vooma is responsible for the service reliability, quality, and integrity of VOOMA Platform. Developing subject matter expert knowledge of Fintech, Mobile, eCommerce and other payment banking technologies. The role holder will also provide leadership to support engineers and vendor consultants towards ensuring a service and system stability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership to KCB VOOMA Support team and prepare duty schedules.

    Digital Support Specialist

    The Position: 

    The IT Digital Channels Unit within the Banking Systems Operations Department is charged with the responsibility of Support and Technical Operations of the Digital Channels and Middleware Systems within the Bank. The unit supports the Digital Banking in the areas of Mobile Banking, Card Systems, Merchant Acquiring, Agent Banking, Internet Banking, and International Money Transfers (Branch- Based and Digital IMTs).

    The Digital Support Specialist is responsible for the system administration and technical support for Mobile Banking, Agency Banking, Internet Banking, KCB MPESA, Vooma payments, host to host services, middleware applications and all their related interfaces. The role holder will also provide support for Digital Channel related projects and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support for existing Agency, Mobi Loan (Vooma Loan), Internet Banking, Mobile banking, C2B, MTS, Channel Manager systems (herein later referred to as Digital Channels) and implementation of related projects.
    • Delivering business solutions by ensuring that they are well tested and are rolled out in a manner that does not adversely affect business processes.
    • Work closely with IT Security to ensure that the Digital Channels money transfer services are well secured and in implementing SSL and other encryption certificates for ensuring robust and secure Digital Channels services.

    Enterprise Solution Engineer

    The Position:

    The role of Enterprise Solution Engineer is to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of enterprise solutions. The Enterprise Solutions Engineer is responsible for the creation of technically complex multi-component solution designs and partners with Enterprise and Solution Architects to identify and implement solutions that enable business needs. The Enterprise Solution Engineer will lead and influence the project team to ensure the technical success of initiatives, utilizing sound expertise in the evaluation and creation of multiple solution design options, meeting complex requirements and constraints.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop high quality solutions that are scalable, secure, and stable across the enterprise solutions.
    • Work closely with product owners and business analysts and solution architects during requirements engineering phase to understand and document functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Work together with Group Enterprise Architecture teams to analyze product requirements and design best-fit architectures and solutions guided by KCB policies and industry best practices and standards.
    • Identify, champion and implement innovative solutions that exploit existing business opportunities and mitigate existing risks.
    • Accountable for development and timely delivery of quality applications and software solutions from requirements definition, review of solution design (SDD) and interface specification documents (ISD), user test planning and review, defect tracking, and ensuring closure project tasks.
    • Specify and ensure application controls are incorporated during design of the software in order to check on risk exposure.
    • Analyze and fix software applications bugs and defects and contributes towards ensuring high availability, scalability, fault tolerance and resilience of production solutions and applications.
    • Design, develop unit test plans and perform unit and scenario testing for application code bases and interfaces.
    • Work with technology operations and support teams to handover system support skills and documentation and formulate OLA agreements with level 3 support.
    • Work closely with Technology Risk and Security teams to ensure that applications are well secured as per the bank’s Technology Security policies and standards.
    • Understands the necessity of and contributes to establishment of the right programming standards.
    • Provide 3rd level support to the banking operations administrators and support teams and other application support teams in resolving production systems anomalies and refining of system operations.
    • Creates and communicates initial estimates including suggested solution, IS impacts, IS costs for minor, small, and large enterprise projects.
    • Collaborates with vendor partners for integration of partner development activities within project timeline.
    • Performs technical evaluations of new technology products or suggest changes/enhancements to existing products/environments to fulfill business needs.
    • Provides daily support for existing enterprise solutions, including modifying, testing, validating, and documenting system changes. Adheres to normal change control processes for these activities.

    The Person:

    • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
    • A Certification in either, ITIL, Project Management; Temenos T24 or related.

    The Position:

    The Position:

    Senior Information Architect

    The Position:

    The role holder will be responsible for the Enterprise Architecture (technical, systems, business & information architecture) of Technology systems used by or to be procured by the Bank. He/She will ensure that all Technology Systems are aligned to the Enterprise Architecture Framework, Bank Policy and Best Practice. In addition, he/ she will be responsible for the secretariat of the Technology Governance Council which reviews all Technology systems used by or to be procured to ensure they are aligned to the Bank and Technology strategy, plans, policies, and standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide information strategy and architecture for the Bank that meets business and enterprise needs, and to deliver design blueprints/artefacts that enable that architecture to be built and operated, as well as appropriately validated roadmaps.
    • Design and guide the building of consistent cross functional solutions that are robust in answering deliverables that build enterprise data solutions regardless of technology or data platform.
    • Develop and maintain all architectures that impact the Information Architecture of the Bank, incorporating the management of structured and unstructured data standards, roadmaps, patterns and methodologies for all business solutions and technologies
    • Ensure that all solutions leverage, and consider enterprise data solutions that provide as much reuse benefit across multiple programs as feasibly possible
    • Provide the leadership in breaking down, planning and sequencing the business vision & strategy into technology deliverables. Liaise with program or data platforms leadership to report and plan solution dependencies.
    • Provide data engineering and data solution governance around the programs and engineering teams to ensure build components adhere to defined cross program solutions.
    • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics such as IoT, BigData, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning etc.
    • Facilitate the identification and analysis of the Bank’s business drivers to deliver enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements.
    • Assess the current Business framework to detect critical deficiencies and recommend for improvement in line with the IT strategy and delivery priority of the IT/Bank programs.
    • Coordination of integration architecture ensuring alignments of discrete project-based integration solutions with enterprise integration architecture principals, patterns, and standards.
    • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence.
    • Participate in the IT quality assurance process.
    • Expertise in supporting the delivery of complex systems, integration projects involving multiple platforms, applications, and environments among Internal and External data.
    • Ability to perform impact analysis of new and proposed information architectures in relation to the current landscape and available technologies utilized in the IT environment.
    • Ability to conceptualize, formulate, and present complex business demands / requirements via comprehensible models and templates.
    • Hands on experience in SDLC processes & agile based development methodology.

    The Person:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
    • At least one certification from the list: CBAP, TOGAF, ITIL Foundation.

    The Position: 

    Technology Infrastructure department oversees planning, deployment and operation of state-of-the-art infrastructure services that include server, storage, network, and databases that support mission critical services for the Bank.

    The role holder will act as the leader a team of that is composed of technical experts on container management and middleware platforms that support business critical financial services for the Bank. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for ensuring conformance to security standards for all PaaS and middleware platforms.

    • Accountable for building, maintaining, and supporting high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable, and distributed PaaS with Openshift and middleware platforms.

    • Provide leadership and execution of automation of systems and services at massive scale to support scaling of digital services.
    • Provide leadership for adoption of the ‘open source first’ as a fit for the future initiative within the cloud and middleware domain. 
    • Establish effective relationship with suppliers and partners to influence their plans and maximize value delivery from the relationship for all cloud and middleware platforms. 
    • Lead a team of technical experts maintaining KCB PaaS and middleware systems running on diverse technologies such as RedHat Openshift and WS02.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in ICT related field or Electrical Engineering.
    • Professional Qualifications in RedHat Administration (RHCE/RHCSA), Openshift/Kubernetes, Cloud (AWS or Azure Architect/SysOps, JBOSS/Fuse/3Scale) and middleware platforms such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, TIBCO, WSO2, RedHat Fuse.
    • 6 years progressive working experience in Linux administration with at least 5 years in middleware administration and 2 years in Docker/Openshift/Kubernetes administration. 
    • Experience with IT automation with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef and Puppet.  
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
