    Administrative Officer

    KMR 6   
    Reports to: Head of Accounts, CGHR
     
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with specialization in Finance or Accounts.
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting and administration.
    • Knowledge of administrative, budgetary, financial and human resources policies and procedures.
    • High level of proficiency in computer applications;
    • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

    • Strong communication and reporting skills
    • Good interpersonal, decision making and analytical skills. 
    • Strong organizational, office and time management skills
    • Ability to multi-task and take initiatives with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to manage complex assignments, plan and monitor budget expenditures

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work with various sections on activities related to COAg budgets for new funding, preparation and submissions of budgets, progress reports and forecasting future resource needs.
    • Track COAg expenditure and prepare and submit reports to management, partners and donors
    • Manage COAg office and maintenance expenses, track and highlight concerns
    • Liaise with Human Resource on personnel costs. 
    • Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor

    Qualitative Researcher

    Vacancy No.  FN-011-04-2020
     
    Reports to: Study Coordinator  
    Duration: 3 Months Renewable Contract as per KEMRI Scheme of Service. 

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate qualitative research activities including logistics, work plan development and implementation, recruitment, transcription, storage of field notes and data.
    • Conduct qualitative research including consent process and data collection of individual interviews, design workshop and Focus Groups Discussions (FGDs).
    • Train, mentor, and supervise research assistant, ensuring for quality assurance of consent process and data collected including the completeness of data, recordings, and field notes.
    • Conduct qualitative data analysis including thematic coding of data through the use of qualitative software such as Atlas.ti, Nvivo, and/or Dedoose.
    • Managing the qualitative budget, track expenses and invoices
    • Participate in ADAPT study meetings (in-person, Skype, conference calls); including flexibility for off hours to due time differences between U.S. and Kenya. g) Write up reports, findings, and work with investigators on the dissemination of results to stakeholders. 
    • Help facilitate the human centered design (HCD)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in public health, anthropology, population studies or related field. A master’s degree in the same field will be an added advantage.
    • At least two years of prior qualitative experience: facilitating FGDs and conducting interviews and design workshops, coding, and analysis. 
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and web-based applications including Skype.  
    • Experience with qualitative analysis software, for example Atlas.ti, Nvivo, and/or Dedoose.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

    Additional desirable qualities

    • High qualities of public relations and able to work with little or no supervision.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and timely both verbally and in writing with staff in all cadres.
