    Senior Broker

    We are looking to hire an ambitious, analytical Senior Broker— Treaty, Facultative & Special Projects with 5+ years of experience in insurance or consulting to work in our reinsurance broking team. This is a client facing role in a team environment that involves servicing existing accounts, as well as new business production, new product development and managing a growing broking team

    Qualifications

    1. A Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Insurance Option), Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline
    2. A minimum of 5+ years reinsurance broking commercial lines experience
    3. Familiarity with the Kenyan and regional (re)insurance markets Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships
    4. Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients
    5. Entrepreneurial attitude with keen negotiation, business acumen and problem-solving skills
    6. Strong organization and time management skills, able to multi task and manage projects
    7. Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality and results
    8. Previous formal or informal experience in managing teams or direct reports.
    9. Expert with top notch client relationship management capabilities

    The ability to embrace change in support of the business unit and company’s goalsResponsibilities

    1. Identifying prospective opportunities and establishing strategic partnerships with existing clients in order to achieve new business and renewal retention targets.
    2. Seeking quotations and placements for treaty and facultative reinsurance business including review and analysis of underwriting information, submission to reinsurers and negotiating best prices and capacity.
    3. Carrying out reviews of treaty programmes prior to renewal and making recommendations to clients on reinsurance optimization.
    4. Assisting in new and renewal presentations to clients; providing advice on the scope of coverage, capacity required and interpretation of clauses.
    5. Arranging specialized reinsurance cover for unique and complete risks with the local and international markets, including Lloyds of London.
    6. Developing, maintaining and managing long-term business relationships with clients through regular market visits.
    7. Liaising with clients and reinsurers on enquiries, making sure all are resolved in a prompt, friendly and professional manner.
    8. Lead Broking Executives in preparation and review of all placement slips and cover notes as well as claims processing.

    Broking Executives

    We are looking to hire proactive and driven Broking Executives with 2+ years of experience in insurance or consulting to work in our reinsurance broking team. This is a client-facing role in a team environment that involves servicing existing accounts, as well as new business production and new product development  

    Qualifications

    1. A Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Insurance Option), Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline
    2. A minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience in the insurance industry preferably in the reinsurance department of an insurer, a reinsurance broker or reinsurer.
    3. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    4. Strong ability to explain technical details to various stakeholders
    5. Familiarity with the Kenyan and regional (re)insurance markets’

    Responsibilities

    1. Support the Senior Broker & CEO in marketing and sourcing of facultative and treaty business.
    2. Booking of new and renewal business in the company’s Cover-Scope Reinsurance system, along with claims processing.
    3. Follow up and Monitoring of new business offers and updating the Client Relationship Management system.
    4. Documentation, Debiting, and follow up of placement slips & closings
    5. Assisting in new and renewal presentations to clients
    6. Maintaining clear, accurate, and comprehensive files of all relevant documentation.
