    Swimming Pool Attendant

    Overall Role Purpose

    Recreational facilities are one of the MFA agenda to enhance nurturing of talent. Swimming pool is one of the recreational facilities at the academy. There is need to employ a swimming pool attendant to clean and maintain the swimming pool. He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations in compliance with the maintenance SLA. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organizational skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Setting up Pool Covers, umbrellas, and other pool furniture.
    • Ensuring that the swimming pool, furniture, and facilities are clean and safe.
    • •Welcoming guests and ensuring their safety and comfort.
    • •Clearing used towels, glasses, and trash.
    • •Enforcing safety protocols as set out by the safety department.
    • Monitoring the activity of guests and ensuring their safety.
    • Reporting any damages or incidences to the supervisor.

    • Able to interpret chlorinators and balancing Tank Pressure Indicators.

    Plumber

     Overall Role Purpose:
    MFA facilities and infrastructural capacity is growing day by day as the construction progress and successive handover is done by the contractors. Plumbing reinstatement is a main issue as most pipelines system and mechanical accessories takes the main part of the infrastructures in relation to the high frequency of use. We thus would like to have a plumber whom will support the maintenance department in provision of technical support on property/facilities issues and provision of routine maintenance to residential, non-residential buildings Farm and grounds. He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations in compliance with the maintenance SLA. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self- management and organizational skills.

           Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out plumbing (Routine) preventive, predictive and emergency works inclusive inspection and repairs/control of gas lines, maintenance of existing water systems and filling of daily inspection sheets.
    • Assist in Unblocking/Cleaning of open and closed storm water drains.
    • Maintain the Swimming pool pumps
    • To assist the department in the completion of tasks in a timely fashion and to a high standard
    • Be familiar with the required Health & Safety standards governing the plumbing & gas installation/maintenance role.
    • Carry out plumbing repairs to the water systems (open and closed) in the school compound, Dorms and residential staff quarters i.e. residential and non-residential.

    • Aid outsourced contractors in coordination during Maintenance borehole pumps, booster pumps and pressure tanks.

    Persons specifications

    • Certificate in plumbing from a recognized government institution.
    • Prior experience (5 Years) of Carrying out maintenance/plumbing works in an institution of learning.
    • At least 5 years working knowledge and Experience of both Industrial and Domestic plumbing & gas works. (Preferably Government – trade test II or equivalent).
    • MUST have latest police clearance certificate.

It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organizational skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
    • Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
    • Perform general electrical maintenance.
    • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
    • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
    • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
    • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
    • Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
    •  Good knowledge of various test equipment.

    Persons Specifications

    • At least 8 years working knowledge and Experience of both Industrial and Domestic plumbing & gas works. (Preferably Government – trade test 1 or equivalent).
    • Completion of electrician apprenticeship and having Grade test III and above qualification.

    Community Cooker Operator.

    Overall Role Purpose:

    Solid waste management is a key factor in ensuring the safety of staff and students within the Academy. The management of waste at the Academy entails the collection, sorting, and burning of combustible waste to generate heat energy used to heat water to be used at the Zero Grazing Milking Parlour and at the abattoir. There is therefore a need to employ a solid waste (Community cooker operator) to carry out this works. He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations in compliance with the maintenance SLA. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organizational skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Receive all waste and place it in the Rack.
    • Sort all the waste and prepare round waste balls for burning, place food waste in the dustbin and non-combustible waste in another dustbin.
    • Burn the waste
    • Check and the temperatures of the water.
    • Coordinate with garbage and food waste collectors.
    • Ensure the farm manager or supervisor of the animal section is comfortable in getting hot water.
    • Any other job as may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

    Person qualifications

    • At least 1-year of working knowledge and Experience in the operation of community cooker or experience in solid waste collection. High school Certificate with D+ and above.
    • MUST have the latest police clearance certificate.
    • Prior experience in carrying solid waste management.
    • Should have worked in a learning institution for more than 1 year.
    • Conversant with CMMS Software.
    • Hardworking, honest, and flexible.

    • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs
    • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and moulding
    • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
    • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
    • Erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
    • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
    • Instruct and direct labourers and other construction helpers

    • Able to differentiate 5 categories of feeds and their duration feeding periods.
    • Detect disease and health problems in livestock.
    • Collect eggs from the nests and record the number of trays collected.

He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations in compliance with the maintenance SLA. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organizational skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out cladding repairs.
    • Repair of pavements and walkways
    • Roof leakage repairs using structural silicon or another adhesive
    • Open drain repairs
    • Work with plumbers in general demolition and repair works.
    • Maintain the Swimming pool
