    Finance Assistant

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Finance Assistant to help manage its Accounting & Reporting function for a short stint of 3 months as a maternity reliever. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Liquidity Management :Ensure that the company has sufficient liquidity to settle all its obligations as they become due. To accomplish this task you will need to be able to forecast spending & receipts 1-3 months in advance, and provide insights to management regarding any gaps or opportunities for wealth maximization that might arise
    • Supplier Management Weekly processing of payment requests to ensure timely payment of all obligations, Weekly review of AP aging within guidance, and follow up for older balance to come up with resolutions
    • General Ledger Management: Weekly posting of each week’s transactions
    • Compliance: Monthly filing of withholding & VAT taxes
    • Reconciliations: Weekly reconciliation of all cash and cash equivalent accounts, Monthly statement reconciliation with credit suppliers to ensure nil variances, Monthly reconciliation of related party ledger accounts 
    • Reporting: Monthly reporting to the finance & other teams on above responsibilities
    • Training & Development : Support the development of an AP manual to guide AP processes, Lead team in monthly activity that helps build Nova Pioneer Culture Principles in the team

    ABOUT YOU

    Skills, Experience & Qualifications required:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree (in Business preferred)
    • CPA (K) or Finalist or its equivalent (ACCA, CA etc)
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of working experience. 
    • Experience in GL management – specifically AP management. 
    • Experience in a startup or in a company that gives you significant autonomy and responsibility is a plus!
    • Results driven: goal oriented, moves fast and takes ownership of work.
    • Have strong skills working with data: 
      • Know how to structure data in a compelling way
      • Analyze data to pull out key insights and trends & 
      • Make data-driven decisions.
    • Have strong project management skills: able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and targets.

    Procurement Assistant

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Procurement Assistant to manage day-to-day tasks and gain functional knowledge and experience in catering operations and supplies management.    This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Planning for procurement of stock and non stock items.
    • Receipting of catering products, documentation and storage of inventory.
    • Ensuring clear documentation of key storage areas are implemented.
    • Keeping a detailed and organised stocks control management system for auditing purposes.
    • Ensuring vendor management and vendor accounts and payments reconciliation.
    • Managing and processing day to day catering information requests from the school campuses
    • Maintaining high standards of professionalism and hygiene of the stores by liaising with the respective catering stewards in the school campuses. 
    • From time to time seeking customers ( students and teammates) feedback on service delivery for continuous improvement.
    • Providing insights to the catering team on costs and consumption trends based on data collected and analysed.
    • Performing any other duties requested  by the Catering Services Manager.

    Qualifications

    Skills, Experience & Qualifications required:

    • A Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management or Certificate in Stores Management
    • Good working knowledge with Microsoft Excel
    • Work experience is preferred but not a must
    • You love all things data
    • You have strong project management skills: able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and targets.

    Music Teacher

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
    • Plan and execute appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
    • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
    • Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
    • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games.
    • Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skill activities, and safety.
    • Observe and evaluate each child’s progress and provide a written report to the Principal, other school leaders and parents.

    • Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
