    Program Assistant

    Department:      Community Service Centre (CSC)

    Reporting to:     Program Manager

    Basic Job Summary

    Responsible for assisting in provision of administrative support to the Community Service Centre team and maintaining productive relations with relevant stakeholders involved in University projects and programs

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Assist and facilitate Service to Society initiatives and programs with departments in Strathmore University.
    2. Assist in planning and organizing Service to Society activities for Strathmore University students
    3. Organize and schedule work camps and trainings for respective groups of volunteers
    4. Assist in maintaining productive relations with relevant stakeholders involved in the Service to Society Initiatives
    5. Assist in the administrative duties in the community service center office
    6. Any other duties that may be assigned by the director.

    Minimum Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field from a recognized institution
    • Evidence of engagement in community projects

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum of two years’ experience working with community service initiatives
    • Experience working in an institution of higher learning will be an added advantage

    Accounts Assistant-Payroll

    Department:    Finance

    Reporting To:   Payroll Administrator

    Basic Job Summary:

    To assist in receiving, analysis and confirming accurateness of payroll details including claims, allowances and other staff expenses. The person will also be responsible for providing support to the Payroll Office

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Receiving, checking and confirming accuracy as well as correctness of all claims
    2. Posting part time claims in the payroll system.
    3. Processing allowances such as per diem, reimbursements and other staff related expenses such as Mileage refunds and staff medical refunds and forwarding them for payment.
    4. Processing staff medical payments to medical providers;
    5. Assist in submitting statutory returns.
    6. The assistant will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Payroll Administrator or the Head of Department.

     Minimum Academic Qualifications:

    • Pursuing Professional Qualification – CPA Part 2
    • Undergraduate degree is an added advantage.


    • Experience in any accounting or finance work
    • Payroll experience is an added advantage
    • Experience in an institution of higher learning is an added advantage
