    Head of Product Development

    Role Profile

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

     

    • Developing the product strategy for the company in conjunction with the General Manager: Group Business and General Manager: Retail to meet new business objectives for existing and new distribution channels;
    • Designing new products and solutions and manage new product development through all life stages to ensure successful uptake in the market;
    • Developing business cases and client proposals for new businesses, partnerships, products and channels;
    • Supporting product development initiatives including the design and pricing of insurance products and maintenance of existing products;
    • Development and sign-off of pricing models and policies;
    • Collaborating and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
    • Providing actuarial consulting, peer review and advice;
    • Managing and developing Actuarial staff within the team

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in  Actuarial Science;

    • At least Six (6) years’ experience in Life Assurance in a product development environment;
    • Experience in Group Risk Pricing is an added advantage;
    • Knowledge of Legislative and Regulatory Framework;
    • Knowledge and understanding of Market Forces and Competitor Environment.

    Head of Corporate Affairs

    Role Profile
    Reporting to the Managing Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with Corporate and other organizations in the country so as to facilitate worksite strategy and cross-selling;
    • Leveraging and aligning all corporate communications with the business strategy by designing communication plans to be implemented throughout the company to enhance the company’s image;
    • Effectively developing and implementing a brand strategy that will enhance our brand presence in the market;
    • Responsible for editorial, design, production and distribution of all company publications, internal and external to ensure effective articulation of the company brand;
    • Developing and executing online strategies that improve the company’s visibility in the social media;
    • Generating media visibility by securing speaking engagements and high-profile media opportunities to ensure regular contact with target media;
    • Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal sources, reporters and other third party news agencies;
    • Organizing and managing the human capital within the department through training, coaching & development, performance management and proper positioning to ensure optimal productivity and high value services to internal and external customers;
    • Representing the Managing Directors in various company events and to support the office to ensure timely execution.

    Qualifications

    • At least five (5) years’ experience in Marketing, Communication, Public & Media Relations, Business Analysis, three (3) of which must be at managerial level from a PR agency or media house;
    • Experience in building brand awareness;
    • Expertise in marketing and campaigns on Internet and online technology platforms;
    • Demonstrated successful experience in media lobbying and writing press releases;
    • Prior experience in insurance or financial services sector would be an advantage.

    Investment Director

    Role Profile
    Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Portfolio management of existing investments across various sectors;
    • Supporting the Managing Director in executing and realising the commercial objectives of the company strategy across sectors;
    • Advising the Board Investment Committee on formulation of investment objectives for investee companies;
    • Overseeing and managing the end-to-end investment process of multiple projects and different stages of the development cycle;
    • Formulating winning strategies;
    • Negotiating and structuring investment transactions;
    • Monitoring the execution of the company’s commercial objectives in active developments projects / portfolio companies;
    • Interacting and maintaining good relationships with the Management of portfolio companies;
    • Driving timely value realization through third party equity investments and higher valuation and / or eventual exit;
    • Developing and managing a lean high performance team of junior analysts and associates to support the company’s day-to-day portfolio management.

    • Commercially aware and entrepreneurial with a track record of building and effectively leading profitable enterprises;
    • A highly networked and influential individual with the ability to cultivate and retain relationships with a globally diverse group of institutions and individuals;
    • A leader with proven ability to position and create demand for products and services;
    • A no-excuses individual with demonstrated capacity to successfully execute multiple projects simultaneously;
    • An effective and ethical leader with a track record of building and leading successful teams;
    • A personable individual and excellent communicator.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a strong analytical or business focus;
    • Possession of professional qualifications in CFA, CPA or ACCA;
    • Possession of an MBA or any other postgraduate qualification in a relevant field would be an added advantage;
    • Minimum Ten (10) years’ leadership experience;
    • Portfolio management of a private equity portfolio, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa;
    • Extensive Board level experience;
    • Investment transactional experience including leading teams in end-to-end investment / fundraising / exit processes.
