Description

The graphic designer will support Finserve Africa by creation of memorable images, high-quality designs and key visuals that will help convey messages to our audiences. The talent will be working with the Finserve marketing and communications team (within the context of a corporate environment) helping to interpret the needs of business units through executions steered by creative briefs.

Qualifications

Key Duties and responsibilities

• Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for review and approval.
• Incorporate changes recommended by the Finserve communications and business owners into the final designs.
• Meet with business owners and/or the Finserve communications team to determine the scope of a project and decipher a brief for easier execution.
• Develop graphics for product illustrations, websites and marketing media assets required by using and operating necessary equipment and software.
• Creating designs as per approved brand guidelines and keeping to agreed timelines.
• Proactively research and critically analyze media content from other leading and interesting brands relevant to Finserve. The talent should then use this to help continually improve designs and approach to designs.
• Work flexibly according to the needs of the marketing and communications department based on projects queued in the calendar.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a graphic designer or in related field.
• Proficiency with required PC or Macintosh publishing tools, including Photoshop and Adobe illustrator.

Job Purpose: 

The Data developers will ensure the enterprises Data is stored and maintained in an efficient manner to ensure that insight can be derived from the Data assets. Interpret BI business requirements into technical data designs and technical data models, Debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting the warehouse solutions, writing relational and multidimensional database queries and implementing extraction loading and transform  tools/scripts.  He will be responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources in an efficient data storage .

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

• Translate business requirements into a star schema data model, develop ETLs, build cubes, and validate results with business representatives
• Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
• Design and plan BI solutions
• Write relational and multidimensional database queries
• Configure, deploy and maintain ETL

Essential Knowledge

• Financial /sector – Banking /Insurance and Telco knowledge is critical for this role
   
• Key Critical Competencies

Requirements:

Technical Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering or a related discipline
• 4 - 7 years of experience in a complex data warehouse environment, hands-on Data warehousing project experience and experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, implementation, tuning and support
• Hands on experience in relational and multi-dimensional data modeling, including multiple source systems from databases and flat files, and the use of standard data modeling tools, preferably Oracle Data Warehousing
• Hands on Experience with Open source Big data Technology Spark , hadoop ,Kafka ect
• Hands on ETL development experience, preferably using ODI 
• Oracle, MSSQL,  Postgree Database experience required
• Python , SQL , PLSQL , Scala scripting languages experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements
• Sound understanding of BI Best Practices/Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques
• Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure, BI report development and business analyst resources, and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Work closely with BI analysts to deliver effective global BI architecture in a timely manner
• Design, develop and troubleshoot Oracle packages that implement complex ETL processes
• Expertise utilizing ETL/data integration tools (SQL , ODI , ) a must
• Manage Scheuled Jobs data processing for ongoing success —  troubleshoot and rectify any production related issues
• Adherence to all development standards and protocols including the likes of Change Management, Code Review, Documentation and Testing
• Educate and advise internal customers on how to leverage available data for consumption
• Demonstrated SQL skills with extensive experience in developing stored procedures, views, functions, triggers and advanced logical methods.
• Experience with Oracle Data services and Web services a strong plus, data modeling experience a plus

Technical Skills Required:

• Advanced Data visualization expertise using Microsoft Power BI  , Tableu  or Oracle OBIEE.
• Experience in a complex data environment, hands-on Data transformation project and in full life cycle Business Intelligence implementation.
• Hands on experience in relational and multi-dimensional data modeling, including multiple source systems from databases and flat files, and the use of standard data modeling tools, preferably Oracle Data Warehousing
