    Chief Curriculum Development Officer - Electrical& Electronic Engineering

    TVET KICD 11

    The Chief Curriculum Development Officer – Electrical& Electronic engineering will report to the Deputy Director, TVET

    a) Duties and responsibilities

    1. Initiate and participate in Electrical& Electronic engineering curriculum orientation activities;
    2. Participate in evaluation of Electrical& Electronic Engineering curriculum and curriculum support materials;
    3. Participate in research, monitoring and evaluation activities on Technical &
    Engineering curriculum and its implementation;
    4. Coordinate activities of Electrical& Electronic Engineering and course panels; and
    5. Initiate and participate in the Analysis of national examination of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

    b) Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to the grade an applicant must have:


    (i) Bachelors’ degree in Science major Subject Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
    (ii) Masters Degree in Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field from a recognized University/ Institution;
    (iii) Served as a Senior Curriculum Development Officer KICD 10 or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years;
    (iv) Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Electrical & Electronic Engineering; and
    (v) Proficiency in computer use and application

    Chief Curriculum Development Officer - Physics

    KICD 11

    The Chief Curriculum Development Officer – Physics will report to the Deputy Director

    a) Duties and responsibilities

    1. Initiate and participate in Physics curriculum orientation activities;
    2. Participate in evaluation of curriculum and curriculum support materials;
    3. Participate in research, monitoring and evaluation activities on Physics curriculum and its implementation;
    4. Coordinate activities of Physics and course panels; and
    5. Initiate and participate in the Analysis of national examination of Physics.

    b) Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to the grade an applicant must have:


    (i) Bachelors’ degree in Science major Subject Physics;
     (ii) Masters Degree in Science in Physics or related field from a recognized University/ Institution;
    (iii) Served as a Senior Curriculum Development Officer KICD 10 or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years;
    (iv)Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in physics; and
    (v) Proficiency in computer use and application

    Chief Procurement Officer

    The Chief Procurement Officer will report to the Assistant Director, Procurement services

    Duties and responsibilities

    1. Co-ordinate, implement and review of supply chain systems, policies and procedures;
    2. Manage the tender process and mitigate any inherent risks;
    3. Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of supply chain management activities;
    4. Offer technical assistance in tender evaluation and disposal of stores;
    5. Undertake market surveys;
    6. Prepare consolidated annual procurement plan;
    7. Train and supervise staff in procurement unit

    b) Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to the grade an applicant must have:


    (i) Bachelor’s degree plus a post graduate diploma in supplies management or its equivalent;
    (ii) Served as Senior Procurement Officer or in a relevant and comparable position in the public service for a period of at least three (3) years;
    (iii) Demonstrated professional competence in undertaking procurement work;
    (iv)Been registered as a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or its equivalent;
    (v) Proficiency in computer use and application and have Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated.

    Deputy Director, Basic Education

    The Deputy Director, Basic Education will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum and Research services

    a) Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Design systems, procedures and practices necessary for effective curriculum development;
    2. Coordinate development and evaluation of curriculum support materials;
    3. Establish and maintain databank on all statistics pertaining to curriculum; and
    4. Initiate and organize symposia, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, education days for purposes of sharing and disseminating experiences.

    b) Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, an applicant must have:


    (i) A Master’s Degree in Education with specialization in curriculum studies and research or related field, with relevant working experience at supervisory level.
    (ii) Served as a Senior Assistant Director in the area of curriculum development and implementation for at least three (3) years;
    (iii) Knowledge in national and international trends in curriculum development and research;
    (iv)Attended the Strategic Leadership Development Programme at the Kenya School of Government; and
    (v) Proficiency in computer use and application.

    Senior Deputy Director, Curriculum and Research Services

    The Senior Deputy Director, Curriculum and Research Services will report to the Director/Chief Executive Officer

    a) Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Formulate, implement and review effective plans, objectives and strategies related to curriculum and research including mobilization of resources;
    2. Co-ordinate research and direct development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
    3. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure standards in curricula offered in learning institutions;
    4. Ensure effective orientation of curriculum implementers; and
    5. Coordinate, monitor and review curriculum on a continuous basis.

    b) Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to the grade an applicant must have:


    (i) A Masters Degree in Education with specialization in curriculum studies and bresearch or related field, with relevant working experience at supervisory level in the area of curriculum development and research for at least 10 years;
    (ii) Knowledge in national and international trends in curriculum development and research;
    (iii) Attended the Strategic Leadership Development Programme at Kenya School of Government; and
    (iv)Proficiency in computer use and application.

    Method of Application

    Applicants interested in any of the above positions are expected to fulfill the requirements of chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya.

    1. Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
    2. Clearance certificate from Higher Education loans Board (HELB);
    3. Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
    4. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal investigation; and
    5. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau.
