    Accountant (Kitisuru, Nairobi)

    Terms of Service: 1-year Contract (renewable on satisfactory performance),

    Salary: KES 40,000 Monthly,

    Main Purpose & Scope The Job

    The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling accounting ledgers and balance sheets in accordance with Ankole Grill Policies, Procedures and Standards laid out by Management to ensure customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    • Operates as the principal salesperson in the restaurant and ensures that guests are accorded high level of customer care.
    • Ensures compliance with government and corporate policies regulations and laws.
    • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries of direct invoices per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Paying suppliers; Verify approval on all invoices, scheduling and preparing checks per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
    • Ensure credit is received for outstanding memos.
    • Issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
    • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Verifies Supplier accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Prepare and maintain an up to date daily recording of transactions and input data into the accounting system.
    • Maintains historical records by filing documents per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Filing statutory returns, VAT, WHT tax, Catering Levy, NSSF, NHIF HELB, and PAYE.
    • Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices per Ankole Grill accounting guidelines.
    • Involve in preparation of financial reports and management reports.
    • Maintain confidentiality of company data.
    • In addition to the above, the Accountant may be given such other duties, as the Management may deem necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution;
    • CPA K / ACCA
    • 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the Hospitality industry in a 4 star or 5 Star establishment
    • Hospitality certification is a plus.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
    • Good reading, verbal and written English skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
    • Able to analyze financial records and interpret for other departments
    • Financial/P&L and problem-solving aptitude
    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Be tech savvy and have a good working knowledge of various computer software programs MS Office, Receiving Software, Inventory system, Micros POS QuickBooks, Quickpayroll.
    • Customer service oriented with a positive, energetic, and outgoing can-do attitude.
    • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
    • Have a high degree of emotional intelligence and a high level of self-confidence.
    • Be able to remain rational and calm under pressure.

    Cashier (Kitisuru, Nairobi)

    Terms of Service: 1-year Contract (renewable on satisfactory performance),

    Salary: KES 35,000 Monthly,

    Main Purpose & Scope The Job

    The Cashier will be responsible for responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of the Cashiering section and for collections, banking, posting cash transactions, petty cash management and accurate reconciliation and reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Operates as the principal salesperson in the restaurant and ensures that guests are accorded high level of customer care.
    • Receive and post all food and beverage checks into the Point of Sale System as per Ankole Grill cash handling guidelines.
    • Maintain the Cashiering of the Restaurant
    • Produce the guests bills for payment, through cash, Mpesa, credit card
    • Maintain responsibility for the collection of the restaurant float, any discrepancies in the float amount to be reported to the Restaurant Manager
    • Calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales.
    • After each shift balance and record all sales/billing in relation to all payment types
    • Obtain assigned float and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping Cash drawer always secure.
    • Maintain a cash float to ensure sufficient cash change is always available
    • Report all balance discrepancies
    • Secure the Restaurant float in the safe provided
    • Report all voids and reasons for voids. All voids must be approved by a Senior Manager on duty
    • Arrange all the bills in a serial order along with the reference report. Place the Restaurant takings and billing information in the drop safe
    • Count float at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
    • Set up and organize cashier workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials and always maintain cleanliness of workstation as per Ankole Grill guidelines.
    • Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures or policies.
    • In addition to the above, the Cashier may be given such other duties, as the Management may deem necessary.

    Qualifications

    • 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry in a similar role preferably in a 4 star or 5 Star establishment.
    • Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution;
    • Hospitality certification is a plus.
    • Excellent reading, verbal and written English skills.
    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent personal hygiene and grooming habits.
    • Tech savvy with a working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office,
    • restaurant management software, POS).
    • Customer service oriented with a lively, energetic, and outgoing personality.
    • Well-organized and detail oriented.
    • Be able to remain rational and calm under pressure.
    • Be able to stand or walk for an extended period.

    Stores Clerk (Kitisuru, Nairobi)

    Main Purpose & Scope The Job

    The Stores Clerk will be responsible for the receiving, storing and issuing all goods purchased, facilitating the buying of required items that are not in stock and maintaining records of all stores operations in accordance Ankole Grill policies, procedures, and standards established to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    • Receives deliveries by checking; Quantity, Specifications and Price
    • Ensures the arrangement of all goods received are put into the storage area according to the FIFO principle:
    • Receive and post-delivery notes and invoices on the Inventory system).
    • Issues the goods against authorized requisition.
    • Appraises the performances of all the regular suppliers and submits appraisal reports to the management accountant every three months.
    • Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs per Ankole Grill guidelines.
    • Resolve discrepancies noted in received goods immediately.
    • Communicate with proper management regarding any loss or damage to goods
    • Ensure all deliveries are received at the designated receiving area only.
    • Ensure all invoices are stamped and dated with the appropriate receiving stamp upon deliveries per Ankole Grill guidelines
    • Conduct spot checks and advises the procurement department on minimum, reorder and maximum levels
    • Responsible for stores cleanliness, tidiness and ensure the stores are well illuminated
    • Ensure that HACCP points are taken into consideration while receiving items and must follow the Hygiene standards.
    • In addition to the above, the stores assistant may be given such other duties, as the Management may deem necessary.

    Qualifications

    • 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry in a similar role preferably in a 4 star or 5 Star establishment.
    • A Diploma in Stores Management or Purchases and Supplies Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Registered member of CIPS / KSM
    • Good computer skills: MS Excel, MS Word. Receiving Software, Inventory system QuickBooks & Micros POS
    • Hospitality certification is a plus,
    • HACCP and hygiene training
    • Able to work under pressure and long hours
    • Excellent personal hygiene and grooming habits.
    • Customer service oriented with a lively, energetic, and outgoing personality.
    • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
    • Strong safety and hygiene awareness
