    Business Development Manager – Buruburu Branch

    PURPOSE:

    To generate revenue for the company, increase visibility and presence within the specified geographical area. To create strong stakeholders’ value through overseeing efficient utilization of available resources and ensure customer focus across the region.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Generate revenue in the branch across all subsidiary lines;
    • Provide leadership and support to the staff, sales and marketing team by driving the implementation of the corporate strategy, through training and motivation to achieve the organizational objectives;
    • Recruit, train and motivate intermediaries;
    • Organize and represent the company in all relevant forums e.g. cooperative societies AGMs, leaders meetings and seminars; • Conduct Business promotions in liaison with PR staff;
    • Open up new markets and distribution channels including local check offs for Ordinary Life;
    • Identify and facilitate Branch Human Resource requirements including recruitment, appraisal, career development and resource planning, in liaison with the HR department and Regional Manager;
    • Enforcing of credit control compliance;
    • Manage loss ratios in the branch within the set limits;
    • Make interventions in the branch to maintain the established customer service standards;
    • Consistently monitor and provide market intelligence and identify potential for both business acquisition and strategic planning;
    • Enforce prudent underwriting standards in the branch and facilitate claims documentation process and
    • Keep track on new relevant development in the branch and provide intelligent feedback to GM Branch and Distribution.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or in any related field    E
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications    E
    • Diploma in AIIK/ACII    E

    Relevant experience

    Business Development Manager – Marketing Executive

    PURPOSE:

    To generate revenue for CIC Subsidiaries, maintain a productive and efficient salesforce, support all market and business development engagements. Build and sustain strong stakeholders’ value through internal operational and external fora participation and promotion of CIC’s values with robust and efficient customer focus.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Generate revenue in the Region across all subsidiary lines;
    • Provide leadership and support to the sales team by driving the implementation of the corporate strategy, through training and motivation to achieve the organizational objectives;
    • Provide departmental and functional linkage to the sales team and align operational staff to delivery expectations for the team.
    • Recruit, train and motivate intermediaries;
    • Represent the company in all relevant forums e.g. Stakeholder forums e.g. Client AGMs, meetings and seminars;
    • Support the Marketing and PR functions
    • Position the team to lead in opening new markets.
    • Enforcing of credit control compliance;
    • Ensure Compliance for regulatory and internal parameters

    Pharmacist – Medical

    PURPOSE:

    Responsible for setting up, expansion and successfully running CIC Pharmacy stores in accordance to the relevant regulations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for Pharmacy setup and the expansion

    • Identification of locations
    • Acquisition of relevant licenses and approvals ideal for running the pharmacy and ensure timely renewals.
    • Participate in recruitment and staffing

    Stakeholder Management/Procurement

    • Supplier engagement and Contracting-wholesalers and retailers
    • Ensuring a cordial relationship exist between CIC and all relevant stakeholders-Customers, regulators, suppliers.

    Medication Dispensing:

    • Reviewing and interpreting prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
    • Dispensing medications in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
    • Checking for drug interactions and contraindications.

    Inventory Management:

    • Monitoring and managing pharmaceutical inventory to prevent shortages and excess stock.
    • Ordering and restocking medications as needed.
    • Conducting regular audits to ensure proper storage and handling of medications.
    • Annual development of the departmental budgets and efficient utilization of resources.

    Patient Counseling:

    • Providing clear and comprehensive counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and proper administration.
    • Offering advice on over-the-counter products, supplements, and health-related concerns.
    • Promoting adherence to medication regimens.

    Health and Wellness Promotion:

    • Coordination and management of wellness initiatives such as CIC Dawa Mlangoni and the CDM program through timely drug delivery.

    Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:

    • Collaborating with service providers to optimize patient care.
    • Communicating effectively with prescribers to clarify and discuss medication-related issues.
    • Review and provide technical support on pharmacy prescriptions and such claims

    Customer Service:

    • Ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for customers.
    • Addressing customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
    • Resolving issues related to medication availability, insurance, and prescription refills.

    Compliance and Recordkeeping:

    • Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and prescription files.
    • Participating in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Continuing Education:

    • Staying informed about new drugs, treatments, and healthcare trends.
    • Participating in continuing education programs to maintain and enhance professional competence.

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    Education    

    • Bachelor’s Degree or  Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B Pharm) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.    E
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications    E
    • Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a valid practising license.    E

    Provider Relations Officer – Medical

    PURPOSE:

    Responsible for management of service provider in relation to contracting, accreditation and rationalization of existing service providers.

     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain a cordial working relationship with providers within CIC provider network.
    • Perform provider audit to ensure quality services is accessed by CIC clients and enforce compliance to CIC rules and procedures regarding member access and policy exclusions.
    • Accredit new service providers to meet the client’s needs/demands.
    • Prepare monthly utilization report on performance of service providers and develop appropriate measures to contain cost.
    • Negotiate service fees upon contracting of new service providers, guided by the CIC rates and standard customary fees.
    • Proper documentation of all service provider contracts and ensure timely renewal as per the set guidelines.
    • Train Service providers on CIC service access procedure/processes, update on any changes at CIC in term of health products, existing processes, new schemes on board, terminated schemes and other related claim policies.
    • Engage service providers in negotiation for discounts and follow up to ensure it’s earned.
    • Liaise internally with other sections to ensure resolution of service provider related issues.
    • Regular update of the CIC provider panel and timely sharing with relevant stakeholders.

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    Education  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing(KRCHN), Health Management or in a related field    E
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications    E

    Experience Required:

    • 2 years Relevant experience in Provider Relations Section
