    Assistant Relationship Managers - Nairobi

    Job Purpose

    The incumbent will be responsible for growing liability products and cash management solutions for the Bank’s clientele. Additionally, they will work with the respective Branch Managers to proactively create and exploit business opportunities for sourcing liability to achieve business targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identifying and developing new profitable business relationships through outdoor sales and new market exploitation.
    • Develop and nurture relationships with the clients to ensure that the Bank maximizes the Business potential/wallet size of the customer.
    • Develop more business from the existing clientele – i.e., increase share of wallet by cross selling all personal & Business banking products to all the existing and potential customers.
    • Preparation of all reports required to monitor work progress – daily, weekly, and monthly.
    • To proactively call customers and promptly respond to calls as per the SLA and ensure high customer satisfaction.
    • To prepare regular call reports and obtain & provide market, customer and competitor information and feedback to management to facilitate decision making.
    • Continually recommend improvements and adaptations to existing systems, processes, and structures to ensure current and future viability of the relationships.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business related field from a recognized university.
    • Any professional qualification in Banking and Finance is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ banking experience in a similar role.
    • Proven track record in business development especially liability growth.
    • Excellent relationship management skills
    • Strong business development and analytical skills.
    • Good presentation skills
    • Foundations and principles of Islamic finance/Banking will be an added advantage.

    Assistant Manager, Internal Audit – Back Office Audit

    Job Purpose

    To support the Internal Audit Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing risk-based audits across the shared services functions. This includes assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies and regulations, operational efficiency, and risk management across Central Clearing, Funds Transfer, Card and Digital Banking Operations, Centralized Account Opening Reconciliation function, Administration Department, Branch Operations and other shared services

    Key Responsibilities,

    • Assist the Audit Manager-Shared Services in preparing a comprehensive, long-range Audit Plan covering all the Audit activities, prioritising the audit assignments based on a risk assessment, and scheduling follow-up activities effectively and efficiently. Perform a survey of functions and activities in shared services to determine and understand the nature of operations across Shared Services activities. Prepares the audit plan for the assigned audit area and prepares the Audit work program, in line with department standards. Conduct audits on processes pertaining to Central Clearing, Funds Transfer, Card and Digital Banking Operations, Centralised Account Opening, Reconciliation Unit, Administration Department, Branch Operations and other shared services.
    • Evaluate the design and operational efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices, identify control gaps and potential risks across
    • Shared Services activities; provide practical and actionable audit recommendations to management.
    • Assess compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Central Bank of Kenya guidelines), internal policies, industry best practices and contractual obligations relevant to shared services.
    • Make presentations to the management during and after the audit, to discuss observations and recommend corrective action to improve operations.
    • Collaborate with Shared Services and other support function teams to understand processes, identify vulnerabilities, emerging risks, and control improvements, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective action plans.
    • Ensure adherence to professional standards when performing audits, including the thoroughness of audit documentation per the IA methodology, and ensure that all assigned audit steps are completed within the approved time budget. Follow up with audit clients to get an update on the corrective action plans and appraise the adequacy of corrective actions taken as per the audit recommendation.
    • Participate in special investigations, ad hoc projects, and support broader internal audit initiatives as needed.
    • Provide input for the revision of audit programs/review approach to achieve specific objectives in a more effective/efficient manner.
    • Cultivate a culture of learning and development; Seek coaching and mentoring from supervisors to enhance skills and capabilities.
    • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory developments, and technological advances affecting shared services and internal auditing within the banking sector and advise management promptly.
    • Leverage technology solutions, including AI, to enhance the Internal Audit Department’s efficiency and effectiveness. Perform work in accordance with the charter, which is consistent with the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).

    Job Specification

    • Education    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Professional certifications such as CPA (K), CIA, CISA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
    • Training / Skills    Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills. Proficiency in audit management software and data analytics tools is an advantage
    • Work Experience    Minimum 3 – 6 years of auditing financial/other sectors – preferably three years in a banking environment Demonstrable experience auditing shared services or functions within Central Operations in a Banking environment.

    Assistant Manager, Internal Audit- Compliance Audit

    Job Purpose

    The Assistant Manager, Internal Audit -Compliance Audit will support the Manager, Shared Services in conducting risk‑based reviews to provide assurance on the Bank’s adherence to applicable banking laws, regulations, prudential guidelines, circulars, and directives issued by the Central Bank and other regulatory bodies. The role strengthens the Bank’s governance, risk management, and internal control environment by identifying compliance risks, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommending improvements to enhance compliance and mitigate exposure across business and support functions. The role holder will also perform routine and non-routine internal audits, investigations, procedures/ policies review, project participation and other administrative assignments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Manager in planning & executing compliance and control audits. Performs a survey of functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations, compliance requirements and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve the objectives of the audit assignment. Prepares the audit plan and the audit work program for the assigned audit in line with department standards.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls, compliance frameworks and governance processes within the assigned areas. Review documentation, processes and practices to identify control gaps, compliance breaches, or operational risks.
    • Maintain audit working papers and documentation in accordance with internal audit standards and methodologies.
    • Manage the individual audit assignments to ensure that professional standards are maintained and all assigned audit steps are executed within the approved time budget.

    Job Specification

    Job Purpose

    • The Assistant Manager, Internal Audit –Banking Operations & Product Control will support the Manager in executing risk‑based reviews to provide assurance on the effectiveness and adequacy of controls governing the Bank’s products and related processes. The role is central in evaluating adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency across the product portfolio.
