    Senior Legal Officer

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the energy sector for an experienced, highly motivated, and commercially astute Senior Legal Officer.

    The successful candidate will provide legal advisory services, manage legal risks, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, support dispute resolution, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and corporate governance requirements.     Key Responsibilities

    Legal Advisory & Compliance

    • Provide timely legal advice to management and various business units. 
    • Interpret and advise on applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies. 
    • Participate in policy development and provide legal input on strategic initiatives. 
    • Conduct legal risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. 

    Contract Management

    • Draft, review, negotiate, and vet commercial contracts, service agreements, NDAs, leases, and other legal instruments. 
    • Coordinate execution of contracts and maintain an organized legal documentation system. 
    • Liaise with internal departments to obtain legal documentation required for commercial transactions. 
    • Ensure timely availability of legal documentation to facilitate business operations. 

    Litigation & Dispute Resolution

    • Handle pre-litigation legal matters and customer or stakeholder legal inquiries. 
    • Coordinate with external advocates on litigation matters. 
    • Monitor ongoing legal disputes and recommend appropriate legal strategies. 

    Legal Research & Corporate Governance

    • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and reports. 
    • Support compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. 
    • Assist in protecting intellectual property rights through registration and record management. 
    • Maintain accurate legal records and document management systems. 

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor\'s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution. 
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme) from the Kenya School of Law. 
    • Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 
    • Valid Practising Certificate. 
    • Active membership with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). 
    • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. 
    • Excellent legal drafting and contract negotiation skills. 
    • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

    Workshop Manager - Quarry Operations

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading company in the construction and quarry industry, for an experienced and results-driven Workshop Manager to oversee the Repairs and Maintenance Department at its quarry operations in Mai Mahiu.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all workshop operations, ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of quarry plant machinery, heavy equipment, and company assets to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime, and improve operational efficiency.

    This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional with strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and extensive experience managing maintenance teams in a quarry, mining, construction, or heavy industrial environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Workshop & Maintenance Management

    • Lead, supervise, and mentor the Repairs & Maintenance team to achieve high performance and operational excellence. 
    • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes for all plant machinery and equipment. 
    • Ensure timely diagnosis and repair of mechanical breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime. 
    • Monitor equipment reliability and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. 
    • Coordinate emergency maintenance activities and provide technical support during major equipment failures. 

    Plant & Equipment Maintenance

    Oversee the maintenance and repair of: 

    • Quarry crushing plants 
    • Conveyors  
    • Screening plants 
    • Generators  
    • Pumps  
    • Heavy-duty industrial equipment 
    • Workshop tools and machinery 
    • Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturers\' recommendations and operational standards. 

    Planning & Administration

    • Prepare and manage maintenance schedules, job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records. 
    • Coordinate procurement of spare parts, workshop tools, and maintenance materials. 
    • Monitor inventory levels of critical spare parts to reduce downtime. 
    • Prepare maintenance budgets and monitor maintenance costs. 

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations. 
    • Promote safe working practices within the workshop and plant operations. 
    • Conduct regular equipment inspections and safety audits. 
    • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the workshop. 

    Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, maintenance processes, and workshop efficiency. 
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or equipment reliability. 
    • Train and develop technicians on best maintenance practices and new technologies. 

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 
    • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in maintenance of heavy industrial machinery, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.  
    • Proven experience managing maintenance teams within a quarry, mining, construction, manufacturing, cement, or heavy industrial environment. 
    • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance systems. 
    • Demonstrated experience maintaining quarry crushing plants, conveyors, screening plants, generators, pumps, and related industrial equipment. 
    • Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills. 
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. 
    • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems. 
    • Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to emergency equipment breakdowns. 
    • Must be willing to work in Mai Mahiu.
