    Sales Consultant

    Job Summary

    The main objective being to meet 100%achievement on all tasks at hand i.e., sales 3M MTD ,100% YTD, retaining the inforce book 100%, I have not met the minimum requirement on MTD or YTD expectation though I have been on an improvement curve being at 70% and above on both accounts. On maintenance of the inforce book I have taken a personal responsibility to effect collection daily.

    Job Description

    • Complaints and Queries handling: Ensure complaints are well documented, logged, tracked and resolved/escalated within stipulated timelines-
    • Track and resolve all issues within your branches – (keep a file/ portfolio of evidence detailing resolution or escalation where applicable)
    • Enable customer satisfaction by addressing complaints efficiently and effectively to meet TAT (48hrs).
    • Make monthly follow up calls to customers with policies with arrears.
    • Ensure all policy documents are delivered within SLA and that copies of acknowledgements are held.
    • Make   monthly follow up calls to customers with policies with arrears and document feedback
    • Make   weekly follow up calls to customers whose policies have been RTS’d and document feedback
    • Ensure a minimum of 20 customers are called back daily during the call back campaigns or as stipulated
    • Work closely with members of your teams to deliver outstanding monthly performance (above 3Mn premium)., client and colleague satisfaction
    • Work closely with ABKE distribution channel to ensure seamless operations with ABIA and ALAK by attending morning huddles, campaign meetings and activations within your branches.
    • Drive the current insurance themes/ agenda during morning huddles on a weekly basis across respective clusters.
    • Ensure you attend a minimum of 3 morning huddles on a weekly basis (*sign visitors book for record).
    • Promote cluster-based incentives and sales campaigns to drive sales volumes and value.
    • Contribute to an environment of mutual support by sharing knowledge with other colleagues on day-to-day activities.

    Business Performance and Analytics Manager

    Job Summary

    To provide specialist advise and support in the maintenance and analysis of financial data in order to provide accurate reports and information to relevant business stakeholders, through the execution of predefined objectives as per agreed SOPs.

    Job Purpose:

    Contribute to the understanding and challenge of business performance driven by the Finance Business Partner. To support the Business Partner community by:

    • Providing data analysis and financial modeling support for key projects and decision making within the business.
    • Carrying out analysis, summarizing performance and preparing presentations of financial and non-financial performance.
    • Providing insightful financial reporting monthly including forecasts.

    This requires strong organizational, communication and analytical skills.

    Main accountabilities and approximate time split.

    Business Performance Management – 55%

    • Produce, interpret, and provide commentary on the financial performance of Absa Kenya.  Information is provided to numerous business stakeholders including cost champions and department heads
    • Investment management program structure (IMPS) creation to facilitate business requirements on expenses
    • Build knowledge of, and contacts in, the business and support functions of Absa Kenya.  This will help provide more informed interpretation of financials, identification of trends and allow challenge back to the business where appropriate
    • Participate in the production and aggregation of financial forecasts.  This will include acting as the business liaison to one or more business areas
    • Review project business cases to ensure that proposed investment provides value for money.  Provide challenge back to the business where appropriate
    • Assess the benefits of projects, investments, campaigns through post implementation reviews
    • Critically review output to ensure that it is a sufficient standard in terms of both presentation and accuracy.  Continuously review processes and deliverables to find more efficient means of production and more effective means of presentation
    • Answer technical queries on the production of cost financials
    • Provide ad hoc analysis and management information in a timely manner
    • To support in the production of specific technical elements of Management Accounts including Efficiency Executive Committee pack preparation.
    • To provide an updated monthly/annual/half yearly forecast of performance against budget on costs.
    • To produce reports that enables Business Partners to identify options for improved cost efficiency and reduction.

    Decision Support – 30%

    • To help review and challenge the financial business case for all investment projects undertaken by the business and to monitor benefits by gathering data and calculating costs, benefits and returns.
    • To provide support and analysis on a range of technical issues in connection with the Financial and Management Accounts e.g., variance/trend analysis (actuals v budget) makeup of specific costs etc.

    Strategy Planning – 5%

    • Undertake key elements of strategic management activity, involving the identification of how value is created, destroyed, and driven in the function.
    • To support the business in its MTP/STP processes.

    Financial Control – 5%

    • To challenge plans to commit costs, identifying areas for cost efficiency and managing the delivery of benefits.

    Staff Management – 5%

    • Take responsibility for personal performance development, training and career development plans and ensure they are relevant and progressed.
    • Actively contribute to both immediate team and relevant customer contacts.

    Technical skills / Competencies

    Personal Attributes

    • Attitude:  Willingness to learn, positive “can do” approach and strong work ethic showing willingness to support team members in managing peaks and troughs in workload
    • Interpersonal Skills:  Open, collaborative approach to teamwork and ability to build network / relationships within the business.  Should have confidence to communicate findings (including bad news) to stakeholders
    • Communication:  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to communicate complex financial analysis to non-financial stakeholders
    • Technical Confidence:  Data base queries (including TM1, Compass, FlexCube and EMDW) are central to the role as is quantitative analysis – notably Excel.  Much of this can be taught but basic proficiency and experience is vital
    • Flexibility:  Ability to work across different teams and to pick up new skills quickly

    Experience and Qualifications

    • IT related qualification added advantage.
    • Experience in working in a financially focused role.
    • Experience in providing financial support and advising and influencing business management.
    • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills to enable financial and operational analysis and interpretation.
    • Ability to assimilate, interpret and communicate complex financial analysis to non-financial people.
    • Bachelor’s degree and Professional Qualifications (Required)

    Knowledge, Expertise & Experience

    • Detailed knowledge of financial modeling using advanced Excel functionality.
    • Knowledge and skills on power point presentations
    • An ability to acquire skills quickly to interrogate systems, e.g. TM1, Compass, Flex
    • Good communication skills, particularly the ability to analyze and summarize large amounts of data and present in a concise and readily understood format. 
    • Good understanding of business strategic objectives and the value drivers of business products and markets.
    • Good understanding of key banking account lines and drivers (Income, staff costs, recharges, depreciation, etc.)
