    Communications Designer

    The Role

    The Communications Designer will support the Director to deliver on the objectives of the Co-Creation Team. You will, in coordination with the Director of Co-Creation, the Global Programs Team, and country teams, work to guarantee customers co-create all of Alight’s programming. As part graphic designer and part visual storyteller, you will equip teams with tools for putting co-creation into practice and craft and package beautiful and compelling stories to share with the global team and beyond. You will bring design excellence and inspiration to all projects.

    Bringing Ideas, Stories and Concepts to Life – 90%

    This position is responsible for working with teams and communities to bring voices, stories and concepts to life. You will identify opportunities for design, imagine new possibilities and bring those ideas to life through engaging visual narratives.

    • Work closely with the Co-Creation team and country teams to create a shared definition of co-creation.
    • Lead in the development of tools and trainings to unleash co-creation across the organization.
    • Build playbooks that showcase impact and allow teams to replicate and scale.
    • Create compelling visual narratives that communicate user stories, strategic solutions and bring visibility to the impact of the process and services.
    • Work on projects that spread across print to interactive projects for screens, devices, and space.
    • Act as a bridge to the engagement teams ensuring they are well informed about co-creation in Alight.
    • Work alongside global support team to build co-creation into grants and proposals.
    • Contribute to the design of new programs and support implementation.
    • Participate in crisis response, along with colleagues from across the organization, to design and support emergent responses.
    • Create assets to support every aspect of implementation from concept to build out to packaging.

    We’re looking for the following technical competencies:

    • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
    • A diverse portfolio, featuring with a range of mediums from print design and presentations to iconography and illustration
    • 5-7 years of professional experience
    • Strong design fundamentals (color, form, type, layout) and the ability to experiment
    • Keen attention to detail and execution in craft
    • Experience in web design and digital applications
    • The ability to thrive and multi-task in a highly energetic, fast-paced environment
    • Cross cultural design experience
    • A high level of production experience (final production for print, web and mobile) in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
    • Extremely organized and diplomatic. You have the ability to communicate effectively when setting and managing deadlines and schedules.
    • Experience with human-centered design

    Co-Creation Design Guide

    The Role

    The Co-Creation & Design Guide will support the Director of Co-Creation to deliver on the objectives of the Co-Creation Team. You will, in coordination with the Director of Co-Creation, the Global Programs Team, and country teams, work to guarantee customers co-create all of Alight’s programming. You will support the creation and facilitation of workshops and guide teams in implementing co-creation strategies and tools. You will support the design and implementation of new initiatives, including emergent responses.

    Building a shared organization takes time and intention. We will always be becoming Alight, which means your work will evolve as well. For now, here’s how you could anticipate spending your time:

    Unleashing & Building a Global Practice of Co-Creation – 60%

    This position is responsible for creating tools and facilitating trainings that allow co-creation to be part of daily practice at Alight. You will ensure the management of gathering and tracking co-creation examples at the enterprise level, program level, and global level and help to identify additional co-creation opportunities.

    • Work closely with the Co-Creation team and country teams to create a shared definition of co-creation.
    • Support in the development of co-creation tools and trainings to unleash across the organization.
    • Plan, coordinate and execute co-creation workshops and guide teams in implementing co-creation strategies and tools beyond trainings.
    • Sift through customer feedback to quickly identify opportunities for strengthening our responsiveness and enhancing program quality.
    • Create a mechanism to recognize and celebrate co-creations, big or small.
    • Partner with global support team to build co-creation into grants and proposals.
    • Develop and manage a shared database for co-creation examples and tools.
    • Coordinate opportunities for shared observation and learnings.
    • Provide general program management to keep the team on track and support with logistics, as needed.

    Support Implementation of New Initiatives – 30%

    • Contribute to the design of new programs and support implementation.
    • Help connect programs along the entire displacement journey to deliver essential experiences that all human beings deserve.
    • Maintain partnerships and strong working relationships with independent designers and design partners to design customer-centered programming, ensure they are fully oriented to Alight values and strategy and that customer co-creation is authentic.
    • Participate in crisis response, along with colleagues from across the organization, to design and support emergent responses.

    Serve as critical member of Global Programs Team – 10%

    As a member of the Global Programs Team, you will collaborate with this team to ensure co-creation and discovery data is prepared and developed in a way that supports and informs the strategic projects and priorities of the Global Programs Team.

    We’re looking for the following technical competencies:

    • 4-6 years of professional experience
    • Experience facilitating trainings.
    • Experience in coordination of trainings and distribution of tools.
    • Experience in project management and data analysis.
    • Extremely organized and diplomatic. You have the ability to communicate effectively when setting and managing deadlines and schedules.
    • Experience with human-centered design a plus
    • Excellent organizational skills: the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment + the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically. Ability to establish productive relationships with all kinds of people
